Job Description:
Carry out UT gauging on steel structures, pipelines, tanks, and ship hulls to determine wall thickness and detect corrosion or erosion.
Ensure ultrasonic testing equipment is properly calibrated before use and maintain accuracy during inspections.
Analyze readings in real time, identify areas of concern, and document results in detailed inspection reports for stakeholders.
Apply testing criteria in line with industry codes (ABS, ISO, ASME, etc.) and ensure inspections meet classification society requirements.
Guide and mentor junior technicians, provide on-the-job training, and oversee their work to maintain quality standards.
Work closely with project managers, QC engineers, and clients to schedule inspections, meet deadlines, and ensure safety compliance.
Desired Profile of the candidate:
Diploma or Degree in Engineering.
Strong knowledge of NDT methods (especially ultrasonic testing). Familiarity with shipyard operations, piping systems, and industrial equipment.
Proficiency in documentation and reporting for audits and surveys. Leadership skills to manage inspection teams effectively.
Basic understanding of ISO standards is preferred.
