Your role and responsibilities
The Third Party Strategic Advisor (TSA) is a trusted expert advisor who builds deep, strategic partnerships with senior business leaders at IBM and Red Hat. The TSA is a senior member of Risk, Compliance & Integrity who is known for having a deep understanding of IBM and Red Hat's business and technologies and who guides business leaders to influence with integrity. The role will advance the business' strategy and commitment to compliance and integrity by 1) developing, implementing and/or enhancing global compliance policies and processes in collaboration with appropriate stakeholders and subject matter experts; 2) developing, implementing and/or enhancing compliance training internally and externally; 3) providing advice to stakeholders around risk, ethics and compliance with laws and regulations; 4) thoughtfully integrating client input and legal requirements to inform change to compliance mechanisms driving improvements to productivity, efficiency and quality of outcomes and 5) staying informed of new laws, regulations and industry trends. The role may include assisting other members of Risk, Compliance & Integrity with projects or activities outside their primary area of responsibility as needed to achieve corporate objectives and balance workloads.
The TSA has broad based knowledge of compliance with laws and regulations governing technology companies in jurisdictions where IBM and Red Hat does business, including but not limited to the Foreign Corruption Practices Act, GDPR, UK Bribery Act, AML, Trade Compliance, and EU Whistleblower directives. The TSA should have extensive expertise in global compliance policies including appropriate mitigation strategies and controls to manage risks. The person will collaborate across a range of functions and departments and be confident and proactive in their approach with a strong commitment to ethical risk based decision making. The person will serve as a member of Risk, Compliance & Integrity and will coordinate with other team members to advance the department's objectives and drive a consistent approach to compliance and ethics across IBM and Red Hat.

Required technical and professional expertise
8+ years of relevant compliance experience in-house
Law degree preferred but not required
Applies expert commercial and regulatory judgement to assess risk, fail fast and enable client success
Experience advising senior global leaders
Solid understanding of laws and regulations government technology companies
Demonstrates mastery of written and verbal communication, including brevity, precision and clarity
Demonstrates a positive, can-do attitude in the face of challenges and models calm during crisis
Self motivated and efficient
Preferred technical and professional experience
• Business Operations Acumen: Deep expertise in Business Operation Centers of Excellence, with the ability to leverage knowledge and best practices to drive business excellence and process improvements.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Experience working with various stakeholders to drive business outcomes and support the development of strategies.
• Data-Driven Insights: Proven ability to provide data-driven insights to inform key initiatives and support the development of strategies to drive business outcomes.
