Job Description: Job Title: Technology Operations Specialist    Corporate Title: VP Location: Bangalore/Pune, India Role Description Mainframe /Tandem & AS 400 Technology Operations is looking for a Technology Operations Specialist to support day-to-day service delivery, operational stability, and risk management for the IBM Z (z/OS) platform. You will work closely with infrastructure, application, and Information Security teams to ensure resilient batch and online processing, strong access controls, and audit-ready operational documentation. As these (e.g., DB2) are vendor-managed, the role also includes service integration and governance activities such as SLA management, escalation, change coordination, and service review. The role focuses on monitoring, incident/problem/change coordination, runbook execution and improvement, and effective stakeholder communication to maintain a stable, secure, and compliant production environment. Gender neutral parental leaves 100% reimbursement under childcare assistance benefit (gender neutral) Sponsorship for Industry relevant certifications and education Employee Assistance Program for you and your family members Comprehensive Hospitalization Insurance for you and your dependents Accident and Term life Insurance Complementary Health screening for 35 yrs. and above Your key responsibilities Provide L2/L3 operational support for IBM Z (z/OS) production environments, including monitoring, event triage, and service restoration within agreed SLAs Execute and support batch operations (job monitoring, restarts/reruns, job failure analysis), and coordinate end-to-end processing with upstream/downstream systems Perform initial diagnostics for incidents (including abend and connectivity issues), collect logs/evidence, drive root-cause analysis with resolver groups, and track remediation through to closure Participate in change and release processes for mainframe components and applications (JCL/PROCs, scheduler definitions, CICS/IMS changes) and coordinate DB2-related changes and binds with the vendor-managed mainframe database service to ensure operational readiness, rollback plans, and post-implementation validation Manage and govern the vendor providing mainframe database services (e.g., DB2), including SLA tracking, incident and problem escalation, change coordination, service reviews, and ensuring timely delivery of agreed actions and audit evidence Support security/compliance activities on the platform by coordinating access reviews and privileged access processes (e.g., RACF/ACF2/Top Secret), maintaining audit evidence, and responding to control/audit/regulatory requests in a timely manner Your skills and experience Relevant experience in Mainframe (IBM Z), Tandem, AS400 Technology Operations / Production Support, including incident, problem, change, and service reporting in a 24x7 or business-critical environment Hands-on working knowledge of z/OS concepts and tooling such as TSO/ISPF, SDSF, JES2/JES3, JCL/PROCs, and datasets/VSAM Understanding of online and database subsystems (e.g., CICS, IMS, DB2) and the ability to partner effectively with application teams and system programmers during incidents and changes Experience with IT service management practices (ITIL) and ticketing tools; proven ability to run incident bridges, manage priorities, communicate clearly, and coordinate escalations with internal resolver groups and external vendors Experience with workload scheduling/automation and monitoring (e.g., CA-7/Control-M/TWS, OMEGAMON or equivalent) and comfort with operational reporting/analysis (Excel) Working knowledge of mainframe security and access controls (RACF, ACF2, or Top Secret) and experience supporting audits, evidence collection, and control attestation Strong analytical and problem-solving skills (including structured RCA), attention to detail, and a continuous improvement mindset (automation/simplification where possible) How we’ll support you Training and development to help you excel in your career Coaching and support from experts in your team A culture of continuous learning to aid progression A range of flexible benefits that you can tailor to suit your needs About us and our teams Please visit our company website for further information: https://www.db.com/company/company.html We strive for a culture in which we are empowered to excel together every day.
