Job Summary
As a Hardware Design Technologist for Reliability Engineering, you will design and develop internal validation platforms and testing boards to support reliability qualification and debugging of hardware components for Client Solid State Drives, Enterprise Solid State Drives , USB Flash drives, portable SSDs, PCIe camera cards, and SD/uSD storage cards.
This role demands strong expertise in PCB design, signal integrity, and cross-functional collaboration with Reliability, Systems, Software and Product Hardware teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead hardware development for Global Product Reliability Team, delivering PCB boards, development boards.
•
Design & Development
Create PCB-based testing boards for reliability validation of SSDs, NAND flash, and related components.
Develop schematics, BOM, and layout for hardware bring-up and validation.
Ensure compliance with
EMI/EMC/ESD standards
and thermal/mechanical considerations.
Testing & Validation
Define and execute
Engineering Validation Tests (EVT)
and reliability checks across temperature and electrical conditions.
Support
bulk testing
and infrastructure setup in reliability labs to catch failures early.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with Product HW, software, firmware, and system teams for design robustness and sign-off.
Documentation
Maintain hardware design documentation, including schematics, SI/PI reviews, and electrical validation reports.
Tools & Equipment
Use design tools like
ORCAD, Allegro Viewer, Cadence SPICE, HyperLynx SI
, and simulation platforms.
Hands-on experience with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, VNA, and J-BERT is a plus.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
: BE/B.Tech or ME/M.Tech in Electrical/Electronics Engineering.
Experience
: 10-15 years in hardware board design and reliability testing.
Skills:
• Strong knowledge of SI/PI analysis and high-speed design principles
• High experience on signal and power issues debugs
• Very well versed with the product system architecture
• Familiarity with compliance standards and design for manufacturability
Preferred Attributes:
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment
Strong analytical skills for debugging and failure analysis.
Experience in
reliability metrics and qualification processes
for storage devices.
