<p>As a Project Manager within the WPP Enterprise Data Group, you will provide hands-on delivery coordination and technical project management across Data Engineering and DevOps initiatives. The role supports multiple agile delivery workstreams with engineering resources distributed across the UK and India.</p>
<p>You will work closely with Data Engineers, Platform Engineers, DevOps teams, and technical leads to drive sprint planning, backlog management, dependency tracking, release coordination, and delivery reporting. A key focus of the role is ensuring delivery teams remain organised, unblocked, and able to focus on execution by maintaining strong operational cadence, Jira hygiene, and clear stakeholder visibility.</p>
<p>This role requires a highly organised self-starter who is comfortable operating in fast-paced technical environments, proactively driving actions, resolving cross-team dependencies, and stepping in where needed to support successful delivery. You should be confident running agile ceremonies, managing delivery governance, and communicating effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders across multiple time zones.</p>
<p>You will be joining a high-performing engineering organisation delivering enterprise-scale data and platform capabilities that support critical business operations across WPP, operating at the intersection of data engineering, cloud platform operations, systems integration, and master data management.</p>

<p><strong>Sprint & delivery management</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Manage sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives across offshore engineering teams.</li>
<li>Track and report on sprint velocity, burn-down, and delivery progress against programme milestones.</li>
<li>Coordinate sprint deliverables across data engineering, systems integration, and data management workstreams.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Dependency & risk management</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Identify, track, and manage cross-workstream dependencies that impact delivery timelines.</li>
<li>Maintain the programme risk and issue register, driving mitigation actions to resolution.</li>
<li>Escalate blockers and delivery risks to programme leadership with recommendations.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Resource & capacity planning</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Manage resource allocation and capacity planning across offshore teams.</li>
<li>Support the onboarding of new team members, ensuring access, tooling, and documentation are in place.</li>
<li>Track team utilisation and identify capacity constraints ahead of sprint commitments.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Stakeholder communication</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Produce regular status reports and dashboards for programme leadership and stakeholders.</li>
<li>Facilitate cross-timezone communication between UK and India-based teams.</li>
<li>Manage the Jira project, ensuring tasks, estimates, and status are kept current.</li>
</ul>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>What you'll need:</strong></span></p>
<ul>
<li>Proven experience in technical project management within data engineering, software development, or systems integration programmes.</li>
<li>Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) with practical experience running sprints.</li>
<li>Proficiency with project management tools, particularly Jira and Confluence.</li>
<li>Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills across technical and business audiences.</li>
<li>Experience managing distributed teams across multiple time zones.</li>
<li>Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify risks, dependencies, and bottlenecks.</li>
<li>Organised and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams.</li>
<li>Understanding of data engineering or data platform programmes is an advantage.</li>
<li>Experience with Databricks, Azure, or similar cloud platforms is a plus.</li>
<li>Self-motivated with the ability to operate independently and drive delivery outcomes.</li>
