Job Description/Preferred Qualifications We are seeking a Systems & UX Engineer who can combine strong backend engineering fundamentals with thoughtful user experience design to deliver fast, reliable, and intuitive applications. In this role, you will build end-to-end product experiences—front-end, APIs, and systems integrations—while ensuring performance, accessibility, and maintainability in production environments.  Key Responsibilities   End-to-End Product Engineering   Design and build user-facing applications and internal tools with a focus on clarity, usability, and responsiveness.  Develop backend services and APIs that support scalable, reliable application experiences.  Translate user needs into well-scoped features, prototypes, and production implementations.  UX Design & Front-End Engineering   Build modern, accessible UI components and flows using established design patterns and UX best practices.  Collaborate with stakeholders to refine user journeys, information architecture, and interaction design.  Implement performance-oriented front-end practices (rendering efficiency, caching, lazy loading, and instrumentation).  Systems Performance & Reliability   Optimize end-to-end performance across client, API, and backend systems; measure and improve p95 latency and responsiveness.  Implement observability (logs, metrics, traces) and dashboards for critical user journeys and services.  Contribute to operational excellence through automated testing, CI/CD, and production readiness practices.  Integration & Interoperability   Integrate with enterprise services (authentication, authorization, data services, and workflow systems).  Design secure, maintainable integration points with clear contracts and versioning strategies.  Documentation & Collaboration   Document system behavior, UX guidelines, and engineering standards; create reusable components and templates.  Work effectively in cross-functional teams, partnering with engineering, product, and business stakeholders.  Required Qualifications   Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field with 5+ years of relevant experience; OR a Master's/PhD with 3+ years of relevant experience.  Strong experience building production-grade web applications, including front-end engineering and backend/API development.  Proficiency with modern web technologies (e.g., JavaScript/TypeScript, React or similar frameworks) and backend development (e.g., Python/Node/Java).  Strong understanding of UX principles, accessibility standards, and responsive design patterns.  Experience with performance optimization, monitoring, and debugging across distributed systems.  Experience with CI/CD, version control (Git), and software engineering best practices.  Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.  Preferred Qualifications   Experience designing dashboards or rich data/AI-driven interfaces (search, copilots, analytics, and workflow tools).  Experience with design systems, component libraries, and UX research/validation techniques.  Experience with authentication/authorization patterns (SSO/OAuth, RBAC) and secure API design.  Experience with observability tooling and SRE practices for user-facing services (SLOs, alerts, incident response).  Experience with microservices, message queues, and distributed system patterns.  What Success Looks Like (First 6-12 Months)   User experiences that are measurably faster, more intuitive, and easier to adopt—validated through feedback and product metrics.  Reliable services and APIs with strong test coverage, clear observability, and predictable deployments.  A reusable component/design system that accelerates feature delivery while maintaining UX consistency.  Reduced friction in critical workflows through thoughtful interaction design and performance improvements.  Note: Technology choices may vary by team needs; candidates should be comfortable learning and adapting to new tools.   Minimum Qualifications Doctorate (Academic) Degree and 0 years related work experience; Master's Level Degree and related work experience of 3 years; Bachelor's Level Degree and related work experience of 5 years We offer a competitive, family friendly total rewards package.
