About this role

Support installation issues such as Google Distributed Cloud Edge (GDCE) zone setup issues (e.g., cabling error, network issue, hardware dead on arrival), edge operating system bootup problems, networking complications, cluster creation hurdles, etc. Troubleshoot customer workload migration issues, including script or playbook errors and store-specific configuration discrepancies. Be the primary point of contact for field deployers encountering issues during GDCE installation at customer sites. Ensure timely resolutions and meeting service level agreements (SLAs). Participate in rotating on-call schedules for seamless production operations and identify the repetitive issues and design automated remediation solutions to reduce the toiling. Interface with external hardware vendors ensure requirements and specifications of GDCE servers are strictly implemented. Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. 2 years of experience with systems automation (Python or Go), and with systems design and implementation. 2 years of experience in cloud (e.g., Google Cloud). Experience with Linux operating systems internals and administration, or networking and debugging/troubleshooting. Experience with CI/CD tools such as Git, Piper etc. Experience in IT infrastructure, security standards, working with hardware (enterprise servers), troubleshooting and mitigation. Preferred qualifications: Experience in data center and hardware operations or design. Experience working with hardware vendors and supply chain. Experience with customer engagement and proof-of-concept design.
