Key Responsibilities: As a Sustainability and Climate Tech Intern, you will be involved in the technical, commercial, and strategic aspects of sustainability projects, including: Project Documentation & Development: Support the end-to-end lifecycle of Project Design Documents (PDD) for carbon credit projects, ensuring compliance with recognized methodologies and international standards. Carbon Market Analysis: Conduct research and analysis on carbon credit value chains, focusing on registries such as Verra, Gold Standard, and Climate Action Reserve , while keeping track of global policies, including recent G20 climate regulations and related initiatives . Life Cycle Assessment (LCA): Assist in performing LCA studies for products and services to quantify environmental impacts, identify decarbonization opportunities, and inform climate strategies. Climate Mitigation & Carbon Sequestration: Explore methods to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and enhance carbon sequestration, including biochar, bio-oil, and wood vinegar technologies , while understanding their commercial and environmental potential. Research & Reporting: Prepare clear, impactful reports, presentations, and communication materials for internal and external stakeholders on market trends, project progress, policy updates, and sustainability strategies. Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners, translating complex technical and policy information into actionable insights. What We’re Looking For: Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Business, Technology , or a closely related field. Beginners with a strong willingness to learn are encouraged, though prior exposure to carbon projects, climate policies, or sustainability initiatives is a plus. Technical Expertise: Basic understanding of carbon credits, carbon markets, and carbon registries (Verra, Gold Standard, Climate Action Reserve). Awareness of recent G20 climate-related policies and global climate change mitigation frameworks . Familiarity with LCA, PDD, and bio-based climate tech solutions is advantageous. Knowledge of carbon emission reduction strategies and carbon sequestration techniques . Commercial & Leadership Skills: Proactive, entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for innovation in sustainability . Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills to explain complex scientific, technical, and policy concepts effectively. Commitment to driving measurable environmental impact through practical and scalable solutions. Learnings from the Internship: Mastery of Carbon Project Development: Hands-on experience drafting market-ready PDDs and navigating technical requirements of global carbon registries. End-to-End LCA Proficiency: Practical knowledge of conducting and interpreting LCAs to inform corporate sustainability and product design strategies. Commercial Acumen in Climate Tech: Understanding the technical viability and commercial potential of emerging solutions like biochar and other biomass-derived products. Strategic Communication: Ability to translate complex environmental, technical, and policy data into compelling business cases and executive reports.
