Roles & Responsibilities
The main role of the Dman is to lead a team of fellow Draughtsman in working out all the drawings required for the work.
He has to do it with aplomb, keeping in view of the company standards in mind and in the stipulated time frame.
The position also demands from him, a role of trainer as well as a guide to the juniors. STA is appointed by the PE in concurrence with the HOD.
He also has to keep records of all the activities happening at the detailing front and the status of the dwgs released to client.
Reviewing the project status with the PE in a scheduled manner & Set target for completing the project (as per requirement & committed date ).
Coordinate with Require agencies aunder the direction PE.
Leading a team of Dman in planning, implementing and completion of the works.
To check the work of juniors.
To plan the work at least 2 days in advance for himself & juniors.
To maintain a drawing schedule based on the given format and requirement of the particular project.
To work as per the company / clients standards and as per clients samples.
Detailing of portions which can be done without any query should be targeted first & kept ready in every respect.
Before starting drawings always finalize following.
1) Drawing Size
2) Drawing Numbers
3) Scale
4) Overall Representation
5) Layer’s Configuration
6) Reference drawings set.
To complete the work in the stipulated time frame & if any extension
1. required, it has to be discussed or brought to PE's notice before starting the work.
To strive for excellence in all the areas of making drawing.
To get accomplished to newer ideas and commands in the software whichever he is using.
Ensure incorporation of answer to all RFI’S in drawings.
Comparison between drawing & BBS must be carefully, ensure that mistakes should be avoid.
Submit the work by mail as per submission schedule & track the mailing system.
Documenting all the data, information and correspondence is the sole responsibility of the Project Engineer.
