Job Summary
The Store In-Charge – Solar is responsible for managing inventory, storage, material handling, and dispatch activities for solar project materials and equipment. The role ensures proper receipt, storage, issuance, and documentation of solar electrical and mechanical components while maintaining inventory accuracy and compliance with safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory & Store Management
Manage day-to-day store and warehouse operations for solar project materials.
Maintain accurate inventory records for:
Solar PV modules
Inverters
Mounting structures
Cables
SCBs/JBs
Transformers
Switchgear
Earthing materials
Fasteners and consumables
Ensure proper material identification, tagging, and storage practices.
Monitor stock levels and initiate reorder requests when required.
Material Receipt & Inspection
Verify incoming materials against purchase orders, delivery challans, and invoices.
Coordinate with QA/QC teams for material inspection and approval.
Ensure safe unloading and handling of fragile solar equipment.
Record GRN (Goods Receipt Note) entries in ERP/software systems.
Material Issue & Dispatch
Issue materials as per approved material requisitions.
Maintain FIFO/LIFO inventory practices where applicable.
Coordinate dispatch and transportation of materials to project sites.
Track material movement and maintain proper documentation.
Documentation & Record Keeping
Maintain:
Stock registers
Bin cards
Material inward/outward records
Delivery challans
Inventory reports
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly stock reports.
Support inventory audits and physical stock verification.
Safety & Housekeeping
Ensure proper storage conditions for electrical and solar materials.
Maintain warehouse cleanliness and safety standards.
Follow EHS guidelines for material handling and storage.
Prevent material damage, theft, and pilferage.
Coordination
Coordinate with procurement, logistics, QA/QC, project, and site teams.
Resolve material discrepancies and shortages.
Support project execution through timely material availability.
Required Qualifications
Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Supply Chain, or related field.
Graduate degree preferred for large-scale projects.
Experience
3–8 years of experience in stores or warehouse management.
Experience in solar, electrical, EPC, construction, or infrastructure projects preferred.
