This is a role that combines subject expertise, strategic thinking, and genuine mentorship to help students ideate, develop, and execute STEM projects that are authentic, impressive, and aligned with the expectations of the world's most selective institutions. The position is designed for someone who is equally comfortable working with a student who has no idea where to begin and guiding a motivated self-starter toward a competition win, a published paper, or a standout GitHub portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
STEM Project Mentorship

Collaborate with students and counsellors to create focused, personalised STEM profile-building roadmaps aligned with target universities and career goals
Support students through all project stages: ideation, methodology, execution, documentation, and presentation
Help students prepare write-ups, reports, and abstracts for competitions, science fairs, or youth journals
Competitions & External Programmes
Prepare students for STEM competitions including Science and Math Olympiads (RMO/INMO/IMO), ISEF, FIRST Robotics, and competitive programming contests
Identify and recommend relevant external programmes, internships, and certifications (e.g., MIT PRIMES, RSI, Coursera) to complement each student's profile
Academic Support
Provide concept-level support across STEM disciplines - Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, or Computer Science - at the advanced high school level
Review STEM-related application materials including activity descriptions, research summaries, and supplemental essays
Workshops & Process
Plan and facilitate workshops and bootcamps on STEM project ideation, research methodology, and competition preparation
Manage multiple student timelines simultaneously, ensuring milestones are met without compromising quality
Stay current on global competition calendars, STEM admissions trends, and scholarship opportunities
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor's degree or higher in a STEM discipline; Master's or PhD preferred
2 - 5 years of experience in STEM research, teaching, or mentoring - with prior exposure to high school students strongly preferred
Strong command of at least one STEM domain at a depth suitable for project-level mentorship with advanced students
Familiarity with tools such as Python, MATLAB, Arduino, or data visualisation libraries is an advantage
Understanding of global admissions - particularly the role of STEM profiles in US, UK, Canadian, and European university applications
Excellent communication skills, high empathy, and a genuine passion for working with young learners
