Staff Engineer – Cloud & Terraform (Infrastructure as Code)

Role Overview
We are seeking a
Staff Engineer (Cloud & Terraform)
to play a senior individual contributor role in designing, building and operating secure, scalable cloud infrastructure using
Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
. This role focuses on strong hands‑on delivery, technical ownership within squads, and influencing cloud engineering standards, while working closely with principal engineers, architects and platform teams.
Key Responsibilities
Design, build and maintain cloud infrastructure using
Terraform
following established standards and best practices.
Contribute to the development of cloud landing zones, shared services and reusable IaC modules.
Take technical ownership of cloud and IaC components across the full lifecycle — build, deploy, operate and enhance.
Implement CI/CD pipelines and quality controls for Terraform and cloud infrastructure.
Ensure security, compliance and operational reliability are embedded in infrastructure designs.
Collaborate closely with application teams, platform engineers and security stakeholders.
Participate in peer reviews, technical discussions and continuous improvement initiatives.
Mentor engineers within the squad and act as a strong technical contributor and problem solver.
Essential Skills & Experience
9–12 years of engineering experience with strong hands‑on focus on
cloud and infrastructure engineering
.
Proven experience using
Terraform
for infrastructure provisioning and module development.
Strong experience on
Azure and/or AWS
, including networking, IAM, security and governance basics.
Experience with CI/CD tooling such as
Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or Jenkins
.
Solid understanding of cloud security, identity, secrets management and operational best practices.
Ability to work independently on complex technical problems and influence within the team.
Nice to Have
Experience in SaaS or product-led engineering environments.
Exposure to regulated domains such as
Financial Services
.
Familiarity with Kubernetes, platform engineering concepts or FinOps practices.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline.
