Position Summary   We are seeking a   Staff Mechanical Engineer   to join a growing R&D team in Hyderabad supporting sustaining engineering, VAVE, and lifecycle management for the   KingFisher   sample preparation systems   and   Detection instruments.   In this role, you will serve as a   technical lead for mechanical engineering initiatives , driving design improvements, resolving complex technical issues, and ensuring robust mechanical system performance across product lifecycles. You will play a key role in   sustaining and VAVE efforts , while contributing to system integration and helping build capability toward   future product development ownership .     Key Responsibilities   Mechanical Engineering Leadership   Act as a   technical lead for mechanical systems and subsystems , including assemblies, mechanisms, enclosures, and thermal/structural components.    Lead   design, analysis, and troubleshooting   of mechanical components and systems.    Drive   root cause investigations   for mechanical and system-level issues, including field failures and reliability concerns.    Support   design trade-offs, material selection, and tolerance analysis   to   optimize   performance, cost, and manufacturability.    Sustaining Engineering & Lifecycle Management   Lead mechanical workstreams for   sustaining activities , including design updates,   component   obsolescence, and supplier changes.    Ensure designs meet   reliability, durability, and manufacturability requirements .    Partner with global teams to support   knowledge transfer   and   maintain   product continuity.    Value Analysis / Value Engineering (VAVE)   Identify   and implement   cost reduction opportunities   within mechanical designs and assemblies.    Collaborate with sourcing and manufacturing to evaluate   alternative materials, components, and suppliers .    Drive   design for cost and scalability   across platforms.    System Integration & Technical Contribution   Collaborate with systems, electrical, and software teams to ensure   robust system integration .    Contribute to   system requirements, interface definitions, and verification activities .    Provide input to   technology and product roadmap discussions   from a mechanical engineering perspective.    Global & Cross-Functional Collaboration   Collaborate with   global R&D teams (Finland, US, Singapore)   to support technical alignment and knowledge transfer.    Partner with   Business Unit Product Management   to align engineering execution with product priorities.    Interface with   manufacturing, quality, service, and sourcing   to resolve issues and improve product performance.    Mentor junior engineers and contribute to building   mechanical engineering capability   within the team.      Minimum Qualifications   Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering   or related field; advanced degree preferred.    8+ years of experience in   mechanical engineering for complex products or instrumentation .    Strong experience in   mechanical design, CAD modeling, and tolerance analysis .    Proven ability in   troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and design improvements .    Experience working in   cross-functional and global engineering teams .      Preferred Qualifications   Experience with   life sciences or analytical instrumentation   (e.g., sample prep, PCR/qPCR).    Experience with   VAVE, cost optimization, and design for manufacturability (DFM/DFA) .    Familiarity with   thermal analysis,   fluidics   integration, or precision mechanisms .    Experience with   regulated product development environments .    Ability to   influence and collaborate across teams .      Impact   Serves as a   technical lead for mechanical engineering initiatives   across platforms.    Drives execution of   sustaining engineering and VAVE efforts   within the mechanical domain.    Contributes to   system-level performance, reliability, and cost improvements .    Supports the growth of   R&D capability in Hyderabad .
