About this role

Job Summary Synechron is seeking a highly skilled Google Cloud SRE to lead the design, management, and optimization of scalable, reliable production environments on GCP. This role requires a versatile professional who can wear three hats—Design, Developer, and SRE—supporting cloud infrastructure, automating operations, and troubleshooting critical incidents. The ideal candidate will leverage extensive experience in GCP, observability solutions, and DevOps practices to enhance system resilience, performance, and security, contributing to our enterprise cloud strategy and digital transformation initiatives. Software Requirements   Required Software Proficiency: Google Cloud Platform (GCP): comprehensive knowledge of GCP services supporting scalable, secure cloud environments (5-6 years of experience) Terraform (latest versions): expertise in infrastructure as code for supporting cloud provisioning and automation Programming Languages: proficiency in any programming language (e.g., Python, Go, or Java) supporting scripting and automation tasks Monitoring & Observability tools: expert in designing and managing observability solutions using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Cloud Monitoring, and similar support platforms Cloud Security & Identity: familiarity with security best practices and IAM policies supporting enterprise standards Preferred Software Skills: Testing Terraform modules or scripting with Python supporting automation and validation Leveraging AI for automating SRE functions and operational workflows (preferred) Overall Responsibilities Lead the design, deployment, and management of scalable, reliable cloud infrastructure supporting enterprise workloads on GCP Develop and optimize observability solutions for real-time monitoring, incident detection, and performance tuning Support and automate key operational processes, including deployment, scaling, and incident response Troubleshoot and resolve critical infrastructure, application, and security issues within cloud environments Collaborate with development, security, and operations teams to enforce best practices supporting security, compliance, and high availability Support cloud migrations, environment provisioning, and infrastructure automation using Terraform or similar tools Develop comprehensive documentation for architecture, operational procedures, and security policies Drive continuous improvement initiatives for performance, automation, and cost optimization supporting enterprise goals Technical Skills (By Category) Languages & Automation (Essential): Python, Go, or Java supporting scripting, automation, and operational tools Terraform for infrastructure automation supporting cloud provisioning Monitoring tools: Prometheus, Grafana, Cloud Monitoring supporting visibility and incident response Cloud & Infrastructure: GCP services supporting enterprise cloud architectures (preferred) Cloud security practices supporting IAM, data protection, and compliance standards Monitoring & Observability: Design and manage monitoring stacks supporting real-time health and security insights Security & Compliance: Implement encryption, IAM controls, and audit mechanisms aligned with enterprise security standards supported by GCP Experience Requirements Minimum 7+ years of experience and 3 to 4 years supporting cloud-native production environments, especially on Google Cloud Platform 5-6 years in managing scalable production environment Proven experience designing, deploying, and managing highly available, scalable cloud systems supporting enterprise applications Hands-on experience in automating infrastructure using Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, and scripting languages Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, resolve outages, and optimize cloud resources under high-pressure scenarios Experience supporting regulated industries with strong security, compliance, and audit requirements (preferred) Day-to-Day Activities Design, implement, and support scalable GCP cloud infrastructure supporting enterprise workloads Monitor system health, troubleshoot incidents, and perform root cause analysis to prevent future outages Automate deployment, scaling, and operational workflows, integrating infrastructure as code practices Support cloud migration efforts, environment provisioning, and system upgrades Collaborate closely with development, security, and operations teams to enhance system resilience and security Maintain detailed documentation of architecture, operational procedures, and security policies Continuously evaluate emerging cloud tools and practices to improve performance and operational efficiency Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field 3 to 4 years supporting cloud infrastructure and automation in enterprise environments, primarily on GCP Certifications such as Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect, AWS Solutions Architect, or equivalent are desirable Experience designing, deploying, and supporting secure, scalable, high-availability cloud environments supporting enterprise operations Professional Competencies Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills supporting complex cloud infrastructure issues Leadership qualities to guide teams, foster best practices, and support cloud adoption initiatives Effective stakeholder communication skills supporting technical and business alignment Adaptability to evolving cloud security standards, industry regulations, and enterprise needs Strategic thinking supporting scalable,
