POSITION SUMMARY:
BOT VFX, a visual effects services company with global clients, is looking for a
Sr.Matchmove/Rotomation Artist
as a full-time Contractual role. The position is based out of Chennai/Coimbatore and Pune.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Delivering high-quality camera and object tracking on complex to high-end complex shots for CGI integration.
Performing accurate 3D rotoscoping and body tracking to match actors or objects for CG character and prop replacement.
Identifying and resolving complex technical issues related to rigs, lidar, or survey data during the tracking process.
Leading and mentoring new entrants and junior artists by conducting training sessions to upskill the team.
Providing regular internal status updates to ensure on-time delivery of shots within variable client pipelines.
Collaborating closely with Layout and Animation departments to ensure 3D scene continuity and accurate geometry.
Utilizing manual tracking techniques to resolve camera solves where automated tools fail.
REQUIRED SKILLS
Experience: Minimum 5+ years of industry experience with a proven track record in high-end matchmove and rotomation.
Technical Skills: Expert knowledge of Maya and 3DEqualizer; familiarity with Syntheyes or Boujou is a plus.
Technical Skills: Deep understanding of 3D camera principles including lenses, distortion, parallax, overscan, and film backs.
Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of animation and character rigs, including a solid grasp of IK/FK concepts.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in using lidar and photogrammetry models for accurate scene reconstruction.
Soft Skills: Technical leadership and mentoring abilities to guide and develop junior team members.
Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving skills and a positive, team-player attitude while working under tight deadlines.
