The
Senior Manager, Workday HCM / HR Applications
leads the strategy, delivery, and continuous optimization of Workday-based HR technology solutions. This role combines
hands-on Workday expertise with product ownership and strategic leadership
, ensuring HR systems effectively support enterprise workforce operations and a seamless employee experience.
The Senior Manager partners closely with
HR leadership, global HR operations, and enterprise technology teams
to design scalable, secure, and integrated HR solutions. This role is responsible for driving the Workday platform roadmap, managing delivery governance, and ensuring reliable integrations across enterprise systems supporting the
end-to-end employee lifecycle (hire-to-retire).
Key Responsibilities
Own and communicate the
product vision and roadmap for Workday HCM
, including modules such as Core HCM, Compensation, Benefits, Performance Management, Recruiting, Payroll, and Absence.
Lead the
end-to-end delivery and optimization of Workday solutions
, ensuring alignment with HR strategy, operational priorities, and enterprise architecture standards.
Provide
hands-on leadership across Workday configuration
, including Business Process Framework, Security, Reporting & Analytics, and Integrations, ensuring scalable and well-governed solutions across multiple HCM modules.
Partner closely with
HR leadership, global process owners, and corporate stakeholders
to translate business needs into scalable Workday solutions that improve operational efficiency and employee experience.
Define and maintain the
product backlog and enhancement roadmap
, prioritizing initiatives based on business value, operational impact, and strategic objectives.
Establish and maintain
delivery governance and project management discipline
, ensuring successful execution from design and development through testing, release management, and deployment.
Drive collaboration across
cross-functional and global teams
, including HR, IT, Finance, and HR Service Delivery organizations across multiple geographies.
Lead design and oversight of
Workday integrations with enterprise systems
, leveraging native integration frameworks (EIB, Core Connectors, Workday Studio) to ensure secure and reliable data exchange across the HR technology ecosystem.
Ensure
platform health, scalability, and operational stability
through proactive monitoring, release governance, and management of technical debt.
Serve as the
primary escalation point for complex HR application issues
, supporting Tier 2/3 troubleshooting and driving root cause resolution.
Facilitate solution design discussions and guide teams toward
balanced decisions that align business priorities with platform best practices and technical feasibility.
Coordinate and lead
testing, release planning, and deployment activities
, ensuring high-quality implementations and a positive end-user experience.
Partner with global HR process owners to
identify opportunities for continuous improvement, automation, and operational efficiency
across HR processes.
Act as the
bridge between HR, technology teams, and enterprise leadership
, ensuring transparency, alignment, and effective decision-making.
Develop and mentor HR technology team members, fostering
strong Workday functional and technical expertise and a high-performance culture.
Qualifications & Skills
10–12+ years of experience in
enterprise applications, HR technology, or HRIS platforms
, with significant experience supporting
Workday HCM environments
.
Strong
hands-on expertise in Workday configuration
, including Business Process Framework, security framework, reporting, and functional module administration.
Experience supporting multiple Workday modules such as
Core HCM, Compensation, Benefits, Recruiting, Performance Management, Payroll, and Absence Management
.
Strong understanding of
end-to-end HR business processes across the employee lifecycle (hire-to-retire).
Experience managing
product roadmaps, backlog prioritization, and delivery governance
for enterprise HR technology platforms.
Experience overseeing
enterprise integrations and HR data flows across multiple business systems.
Proven ability to lead
cross-functional initiatives involving HR leadership, technology teams, and business stakeholders.
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to
facilitate complex discussions and drive consensus across technical and business teams.
Experience working in
global environments with distributed teams across geographies such as the US and India.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to
balance strategic initiatives with operational support needs.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in
Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, HR Systems, or a related field.
Preferred Skills
Workday certifications in
HCM, Integrations, or Security

Experience working in
global Workday environments supporting multi-region HR operations.
Exposure to
enterprise integration platforms such as Boomi
for HR system connectivity.
Experience supporting
HR analytics, workforce reporting, and HR data governance frameworks.
Familiarity with
Agile delivery models and enterprise HR technology architecture.
