Job Summary We are looking for an experienced "Sr. Linux Web Server Admin" with at least 5+ years of hands-on experience and in-depth knowledge of Linux Server Management (RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), CentOS, Ubuntu, Debian etc.). The person in question should be a smart, technically sound and self-driven individual capable of managing multiple projects. Responsibilities & Duties Server Infrastructure Management: Install, configure, and maintain the server infrastructure required to support Magento applications. Monitor server performance, availability, and capacity to ensure optimal performance and scalability. Identify and resolve server-related issues, including troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and performance tuning. Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery plans to ensure data integrity and business continuity. Magento Administration Install, upgrade, and configure Magento software, extensions, and patches. Monitor and optimize the performance of Magento applications, including server-side caching and database optimization. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Magento configuration, module conflicts, and performance bottlenecks. Manage security updates and patches to protect the Magento environment from vulnerabilities. Security and Compliance Implement and maintain security best practices for the server infrastructure and Magento applications. Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments to identify and mitigate potential risks. Stay up to date with the latest security trends, advisories, and industry best practices. Ensure compliance with relevant data protection and privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, PCI-DSS). Collaboration and Documentation Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, designers, and system administrators, to support Magento projects. Document system configurations, processes, and procedures for reference and knowledge sharing. Provide technical guidance and support to team members and stakeholders. Performance Monitoring and Optimization Monitor server and application performance using appropriate tools and implement optimizations to improve scalability, response times, and user experience. Conduct load testing and performance tuning exercises to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks. Work closely with development teams to optimize code and database queries for improved performance. Desired Skills & Experience Excellent written & communication skills (This is a client facing role) Minimum 5+ years of experience on a Linux Server Admin role Amazon Web Services (AWS) / Microsoft Azure / Google Cloud Platform (GCP) experience is a must Certifications in Linux are added advantage (Redhat Certified or other Linux Certification) Past Experience working with & managing Magento app servers Deep Knowledge, Understanding & Work Experience on: Linux Distributions (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, Debian etc.) Command line based administration of Linux Servers (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, Debian etc.) Linux OS (CentOS, Ubuntu etc.) installation, configuration and troubleshooting Linux Patching, Vulnerability Management and Server Hardening Web Servers (Apache, nginx, Tomcat etc.) installation, configuration and troubleshooting Database Server (MySQL, MariaDB, Percona, MongoDB etc.) installation, configuration and troubleshooting Web/DB Server Access Management (SSH, FTP, SFTP, MySQL) creating/updating/users, groups, permissions, IP white-listing etc. Web Services (SELinux, CDN, cache, redis, Elastic Search, memcache, RabbitMQ, Varnish, SuperVisor) installation, configuration and troubleshooting PHP installation, configuration and troubleshooting along with PHP Extensions AWS, GCP and Azure fundamentals (virtual machines, vmss, virtual networks, snapshots, backup, images, storage etc.) Web Applications (Magento 1, Magento 2, WordPress, Akeneo, Odoo etc.) installation, configuration and troubleshooting Application Performance Monitoring like New Relic, Dynatrace, Amazon CloudWatch, Elastic Observability, Google Cloud Operations (formerly Stackdriver) Web Hosting Control Panels (InterWorx, SiteWorx, cPanel, Plesk, Nagios etc.) AWS services like EC2, S3, Elastic Composer (PHP dependency manager) Advance Networking, working with multiple clusters, load balancing etc. Some coding experience (Python, Ruby, Perl, etc.) Common automation tools (Chef, Terraform, etc) A creative mindset motivated by challenges and constantly striving for the best Version control (specifically Git & GitHub) Able to read apache, nginx logs in details Able to read application level logs in details Able to work with log monitoring tools like Graylog 2, Logcheck, Logwatch, Logstash DO NOT APPLY IF you are not aware of Magento 2 web application your Linux fundamentals and sysadmin skills are weak you are not fluent in written and spoken English; this is a customer facing role you do not have the aptitude to learn new concepts and technologies fast enough you are not willing to work extra hours if the situation demands so you are not enthusiastic about working and upgrading your skills on different technologies/platforms you need to be pushed and reminded of your tasks you believe working in a large organization is the only indicator of your success Office Address: MUB IT Services, Pvt.
