The Opportunity
AskGartner
is building toward becoming the AI-powered strategic advisor for enterprise
clients,
a product that puts the full depth of Gartner’s research, proprietary data, and expert knowledge at clients’ fingertips to drive better decisions against their most critical priorities. Few AI products in the world
operate
over a knowledge base this rich: decades of analyst research, peer-sourced vendor insights, and real-world practitioner data spanning every major industry and technology domain.
You’ll
be shaping the core chat and embedded AI experiences that serve as the primary surface through which hundreds of thousands of professionals interact with Gartner’s
intelligence and
help
build out the broader AI Products and Insights portfolio.
You’ll
work across
products
, engineering, data science, design, and research to decide what gets built, how it behaves, and why it matters.
If you want to build an AI product that changes how the world’s largest enterprises make
decisions,
and you want to see the impact of your work
in
real user behavior and business
outcomes,
this is the role.
What
You’ll
Do
Own end-to-end product delivery for core
AskGartner
experiences,
from discovery through launch and
iteration,
across the chat interface and its embedded integrations throughout Gartner’s digital products.
Define and drive the product roadmap for AI-powered features, making judgment calls on scope, sequencing, and tradeoffs with a bias toward shipping incremental improvements over waiting for perfect solutions.
Develop and
maintain
a rigorous
evaluation
sensibility: understand what
a good answer
looks like, what
a good experience
feels like, and
identify
precisely where the product falls
short,
then translate those gaps into concrete,
shippable
improvements.
Drive quantitative and qualitative analysis to
validate
product decisions and inform direction. Use engagement data, retention metrics, user research, and direct product observation to build conviction and move the product forward.
Translate complex user needs into clear product requirements that engineering and data science teams can execute against, bridging the gap between client problems and technical solutions.
Design and run experiments to
validate
product hypotheses, measuring
what’s
working
and course-correcting what
isn’t
,
prioritizing learning velocity over exhaustive planning.
Develop a deep understanding of how enterprise clients research, evaluate, and make technology and strategic
decisions,
and use that understanding to inform product intuition.
Contribute to the team’s product management craft:
participating
in reviews, sharing learnings, and helping raise the bar on how we think about and build products.
In practice,
you’ll
typically be working across multiple opportunities at
different stages
of development
simultaneously,
some still in the vague problem-space phase, others nearing implementation. Much of your time will be spent bridging that gap: guiding conversations with stakeholders and teams to sharpen scope, pressure-test solution designs, and
moving
work toward a weekly release.
You’ll
be hands-on with the product itself, paying close attention to the nuance of
what’s
being shipped and taking full ownership of the quality of what goes out the door.
What
We’re
Looking For
Experience & Background
5–7+ years of product management experience, with meaningful time spent on B2B or enterprise SaaS products.
Demonstrated experience working on AI/ML-powered
products,
you understand model capabilities and limitations, prompt engineering tradeoffs, evaluation methodologies, and what it takes to ship AI features that
work
for users.
Familiarity with AI/ML architectures, pipelines, and tooling (e.g., LLMs, agent frameworks, retrieval systems, embeddings). You
don’t
need to build these yourself, but you need to have informed conversations with the engineers and data scientists who do.
Track record
of shipping user-facing products from zero-to-one or through meaningful inflection
points,
not just
maintaining
existing features.
Comfortable operating in 0-to-1
innovation
environments: you can create
structure
where little exists, make pragmatic tradeoffs, and drive work from early discovery through
initial
launch.
Comfort with ambiguity:
you’ve
operated
in environments where the right answer
wasn’t
obvious
and you had to develop conviction through experimentation and judgment.
Who You Are
Genuinely
curious,
you dig into problems because you want to understand them, not just resolve them. You read broadly, ask good questions, and notice things others miss.
Proactive and self-
directed,
you
don’t
wait for assignments. You see gaps,
form
a point of view, and move toward solutions before being asked.
Humble and learning-
oriented,
you’re
comfortable saying “I don’t know” and genuinely excited to learn from the people around you, regardless of their title.
Sincere about the
work,
you care about building something meaningful, not just shipping features. You take pride in craft and hold yourself to a high standard because the work matters to you, not because someone is watching.
A clear, honest
communicator,
you can articulate complex tradeoffs to technical and non-technical audiences, and you default to transparency over spin.
Driven by
impact,
you measure your own success by whether the product got
better
and users got more value, not by how many things you launched.
Why This Role
Shape a product used by hundreds of thousands of enterprise decision-makers worldwide, with direct visibility into how your work moves business outcomes.
Work at the frontier of applied AI in
enterprise,
not a chatbot wrapper, but a product rethinking how humans interact with deep institutional knowledge.
Join a high-caliber, tight-knit product team that values rigorous thinking, intellectual honesty, and building things that matter.
Operate with real ownership: the team is small enough that your judgment directly shapes what gets built, and senior enough that your voice is heard in strategic conversations.
Learn and grow in an environment that invests in product management as a
craft,
with structured development, mentorship, and a culture of continuous improvement.
