Role Description:
The Senior Associate Software Engineer – Salesforce Engineer plays a critical role in supporting and optimizing the organization’s Salesforce ecosystem. As part of the global Salesforce support team, this position is responsible for delivering high-quality end-user support, troubleshooting technical issues, managing platform configurations, and maintaining data integrity across multiple Salesforce environments.
The role supports business users across the North America time zone, requiring flexibility to work night shifts (9 PM – 6 AM IST).
The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in both Salesforce administration and development, with hands-on experience using modern Salesforce tools and technologies. These include Lightning Web Components (LWC), SOQL, Apex, Flows, Visual Studio Code, SFDX, Copado CI/CD, Git, and integration platforms such as MuleSoft or Databricks.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Act as the primary technical expert and point of contact for all Salesforce platform support activities across multiple Salesforce environments
Maintain, monitor, and support both production and non-production Salesforce instances to ensure optimal performance and stability
Manage and coordinate all aspects of the release process, including code integration, sandbox refreshes, deployment planning, and post-release support
Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to implement security protocols, ensure platform security posture, respond to vulnerabilities and audit findings and alignment with Amgen’s governance, security, and compliance frameworks
Support and maintain integrations between Salesforce and other enterprise platforms such as AWS, MuleSoft, and other third-party systems.
Ensure platform compliance with GxP and other regulatory requirements specific to the pharmaceutical industry
Participate actively in PI Planning, Sprint Planning, and other SAFe Agile ceremonies to ensure full visibility and accountability across deliverables
Uphold platform scalability, reusability, and future-readiness by recommending standard methodologies and reusable frameworks
Research Salesforce capabilities as needed to suit business requirements, and provide gap analysis
Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including developers, business analysts, QA analysts, and project managers to deliver high-quality solutions
Develop innovative solutions using generative AI technologies
Conduct code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to best practices
Create and maintain documentation on software architecture, design, deployment, disaster recovery, and operations
Design, develop, and implement applications and modules, including custom reports, interfaces, and enhancements
Analyze and understand the functional and technical requirements of applications, solutions and systems and translate them into software architecture and design specifications
Strong understanding of Salesforce data model, security, and automation tools
Identify and resolve software bugs and performance issues
Monitor platform health, perform routine audits, and ensure system uptime and data integrity
Provide production support for Salesforce platforms to ensure efficient and uninterrupted service for all system users
Basic Qualifications and Experience:
Master’s degree of Computer Science and 3 to 6 years, IT or related field experience OR
Bachelor’s degree of Computer Science and 5 to 8 years, IT or related field experience OR
Diploma of Computer Science and 7 to 10 years, IT or related field experience
Functional Skills:
Must-Have Skills (Not more than 3 to 4):
3+ years of experience as a Salesforce Engineer with expertise in Salesforce Administration and Operations Support
In-depth knowledge of Salesforce development includes declarative and programmatic solutions
Hands-on experience with the Salesforce security model, including OWD, sharing rules, profiles, and permissions
Experience supporting Salesforce products such as Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, or Experience Cloud
Good/Nice-to-Have Skills:
Proficient in SOQL, Apex, JavaScript, LWC and other relevant programming languages.
Experience integrating off-platform solutions like MuleSoft, AWS or other enterprise middleware technologies
Proven experience developing and managing Salesforce CI/CD pipelines using SFDX, ANT, or packaged solutions like Copado.
Strong understanding of CI/CD concepts, Git, integration methodologies, and relevant technologies.

Salesforce Administrator (Mandatory)
Salesforce Platform Builder (preferred)
Salesforce Developer 1 (preferred)
Copado Fundamentals I/II (Admin / Developer) (preferred)
