Specialist, Strategic Market Insights and Thought Leadership (CGI)
This role involves contributing to thought leadership and research projects across the full lifecycle—from design to delivery—examining critical challenges and opportunities in government sectors such as public health, defense and security, and other cross-cutting topics, with a focus on how technology and public policy are shaping these areas.
The candidate will help advance the quality of the Center’s research and thought leadership across cross-government sectors, including topics such as AI in transportation, the future of food and nutrition, public health campaigns, and defense procurement.

These deliverables will integrate information from a range of primary and secondary sources, including Deloitte subject-matter experts, primary research (surveys), publicly available data, third-party research, analyst reports, presentations, industry commentaries, and news articles.
Responsibilities
As a Senior Analyst focused on developing thought leadership, you will be required to:
Work across diverse government and public sector topics, quickly build subject-matter familiarity, synthesize complex information, and deliver high-quality research insights.
Identify novel topics, areas, and trends to focus on through analysis of competitor thoughtware, articles, market studies, industry reports, and issue tracking.
Design research proposals, build consensus, and formulate research plans.
Interact with internal and external subject-matter experts and synthesize findings into concise, well-structured narratives.
Assist senior research leads in shaping internal and external thought leadership content and collateral.
Liaise with U.S. colleagues and senior researchers to understand, refine, and manage internal client expectations and priorities.
Apply established research tools and methodologies to support business decision-making.
Work with varied data sets, including survey data and publicly available data sets, to derive data-driven insights.
Identify relevant data analysis methods and collaborate with data science and analytics professionals to analyze complex datasets.
Demonstrate strong writing skills for thought leadership reports.
Display strong consultative and presentation skills.
Support all aspects of engagements/projects to ensure successful outcomes and meet deadlines.
Assist senior researchers and practice leaders with internal briefings and external client meetings/webinars by performing customized data analysis and presenting insights in client-ready decks.
Develop an understanding of Deloitte’s solutions, services, and offerings.
Requisite Experience and Skills
Experience
3–6 years of experience supporting or managing research projects.
Experience working with U.S. and global clients and teams is preferred.
Ability to work effectively across cultures is important, given close collaboration with U.S.-based colleagues.
Industry / Sector / Subsector Skills
Experience in business research or thought leadership development within the public sector industry or its sub-sectors is preferred.
Knowledge of the U.S. public sector market or public policy areas such as health care, public health, defense, security, infrastructure, and transportation is an advantage.
Broad understanding of the U.S. political and public policy ecosystem is an advantage.
Understanding of the impact of AI and other emerging technologies on government operations and public policy is an advantage.
Technical Skills
Strong analytical skills with experience in one or more research methods, including primary research (surveys), secondary research, academic research, and case study research.
Strong data analysis skills with the ability to interpret, analyze, visualize, and provide insights from quantitative and qualitative data.
Ability to use statistical and advanced data analysis methods to analyze large and complex datasets, including survey data.
Ability to develop compelling and analytical data visualizations using Excel, Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Journalistic and narrative writing style preferred, along with prior experience in report writing and research report development.
Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills to generate meaningful analytical insights.
Broad understanding of strategy models and frameworks, with the ability to apply them to research problems.
Ability to understand the impact of marketplace changes on the industry, sector, or sub-sector.
Proficiency in using generative AI-based platforms and tools to elevate research discovery, data insights, analytical rigor, and business writing.
Proficiency in using generative AI and related tools for continuous sensing and identifying early signals and trends is preferred.
Familiarity with building custom GPTs and custom generative AI research tools is an added advantage.

Qualifications, Experience, Work Location, and Timing
Academic Qualification: Master’s degree such as MBA, PGDM, Economics, or Business Economics
