About the Role:
The OEM / Sourcing Manager is the backbone of the product engine. This person will build and manage the vendor network across crockery, flatware, glassware, holloware, table linen, and allied lifestyle categories, and will be accountable for product quality, landed cost, and on-time availability. The role combines vendor relationship management, product development instinct, and commercial discipline.
Key Responsibilities
Vendor Development & Management
Identify, evaluate, and onboard OEMs across Moradabad, Khurja, Firozabad, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Delhi NCR, and international hubs where relevant.
Negotiate commercial terms including pricing, MOQs, payment terms, and delivery timelines.
Build a rated-vendor database with capacity, category fit, compliance, and reliability scoring.
Conduct regular vendor audits, factory visits, and capability reviews.
Product Development
Translate design briefs and trend inputs into manufacturable products and combos.
Drive sampling cycles end-to-end — brief, prototype, review, refinement, approval.
Develop seasonal and evergreen ranges across all 10 product categories.
Maintain a sample library and digital SKU master.
Costing & Commercials
Build detailed cost sheets covering material, labour, packaging, freight, duties, and landed cost.
Benchmark pricing against domestic and imported alternatives.
Drive margin improvement initiatives — material substitution, MOQ optimisation, shared tooling.
Plan MOQs and reorder quantities aligned with sales forecast and working-capital limits.
Quality & Compliance
Set QC protocols with vendors — AQL levels, inspection checklists, packaging specs.
Handle pre-dispatch inspections, rejection resolution, and breakage claims.
Ensure all products meet relevant food-contact, lead/cadmium, and BIS standards where applicable.
Key Performance Indicators
On-time delivery rate from vendors (target 95%+).
Average gross margin across active SKUs.
Sample-to-launch conversion ratio and average development cycle time.
Rejection / breakage percentage at inward QC.
Number of active, rated vendors across categories.
Year-on-year cost reduction on repeat SKUs.
Qualifications & Experience
Graduate in any discipline; preference for backgrounds in commerce, engineering, or design.
5–8 years in sourcing, merchandising, or OEM management within tableware, home décor, gifting, or hospitality supplies.
Existing vendor network in ceramic, glass, metalware, or textile clusters is a strong advantage.
Exposure to both domestic and export sourcing is preferred.
Skills & Attributes
Strong negotiation and commercial acumen.
Sharp eye for product, finish, and trend.
Structured in costing, MOQ planning, and vendor evaluation.
Fluent in Hindi and English; regional languages a plus for vendor belts.
Comfortable with Excel, costing templates, and basic inventory tools.
Working Relationships
Reports to Founder / Business Head.
Works closely with Designer on development, with Sales on combo planning, and with Warehouse on inward QC.
External: OEMs, freelance product engineers, logistics partners.
