The Role You will architect end-to-end technical solutions for robotic deployments — designing electrical and electronics plans, planning the network infrastructure, and ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, and deployment-ready. Works independently on defined deliverables, owns end-to-end design tasks, mentors L1 engineers, and drives customer-facing technical outcomes with minimal supervision. Key Responsibilities Lead technical discovery to produce Site Requirement Specifications (SRS) and Basis of Design (BOD) documents Support pre-sales RFP/RFQ responses with BOMs, engineering estimates, and risk assessments Evaluate site surveys and facility drawings to validate infrastructure feasibility and cable routing strategies Act as technical SPOC throughout design, deployment, and commissioning phases Design Power Supply Distribution systems: load calculations, circuit sizing, and grounding (NEC / IEC 60364) Produce complete electrical schematic packages: SLDs, wiring diagrams, panel schedules, and terminal drawings in ECAD Author cable tray and conduit routing plans per NEC Art. 392 / IEC 61537 with EMI segregation Generate production-ready BOMs with AVL and version control; create harness drawings with connector pinout and torque specs Maintain Deployment Assembly Instructions and Field Service Manuals Design Ethernet topologies: VLAN planning, PoE budgeting, switch hierarchy per TIA-568 / ISO 11801 Specify server, UPS, rack, and edge compute requirements; prepare IT scope-of-work and coordinate with customer IT teams Validate latency, bandwidth, and QoS requirements for real-time robot fleet communication Conduct Design Reviews (PDR/CDR); provide structured peer review feedback to L1 engineers Maintain requirements traceability and participate in root-cause analysis for field incidents Propose standardized templates and reference designs to reduce engineering cycle time Support field commissioning; capture and integrate lessons learned into future designs Requirements 3–5 years in electrical system design for industrial automation, robotics, or capital equipment Proven experience with SLDs, panel schedules, and schematics at 120–480 V AC / 24–48 V DC Knowledge of power quality: voltage drop, short-circuit analysis, power factor, harmonic distortion Proficiency in ECAD: EPLAN Electric P8, AutoCAD Electrical, or equivalent NEC (NFPA 70), CEC, BS 7671, IEC 60364, AS/NZS 3000 — working level IEEE 802.3, NEMA enclosure ratings, IEC 60529 (IP ratings), UL 508A awareness Functional safety awareness: IEC 62061 / ISO 13849 (preferred) OSI Layer 1–3: Ethernet media, managed switches (VLAN, RSTP, LACP), IP subnetting Structured cabling specification per TIA-568-C; PoE switch and UPS sizing Awareness of OT/IT segmentation and IEC 62443 cybersecurity principles PLM/ERP for BOM management; Jira/Confluence or equivalent for project tracking AutoCAD / 2D CAD for site layout review and routing overlays Structured communicator: technical docs for engineers and executive audiences Good to Have Siemens Capital Essentials Harness — formboard and connector library management Solid Edge or equivalent MCAD for 3D mechanical/electrical integration AMR/AGV deployment: charging infra, fleet management, traffic control SCADA, PLC, or industrial HMI integration / commissioning experience We Value Systems-thinking mindset — big picture vision with attention to detail.
