About the Role:
We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Verification & Validation (V&V) Engineer to join our embedded software team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and executing V&V activities for safety-critical embedded software systems developed for aerospace and UAS applications. This is a senior role requiring deep technical expertise, strong leadership, and a thorough understanding of aerospace certification standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Verification & Validation
Plan, design, and execute verification and validation activities for safety-critical embedded software in accordance with DO-178C and related standards
Develop and review Test Plans, Test Procedures, Test Cases, and Test Reports
Perform requirements-based testing, structural coverage analysis (MC/DC, statement, branch, decision), and robustness testing
Execute Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) and Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) testing
Conduct reviews of software requirements, design documents, and source code from a V&V perspective
Ensure traceability between requirements, design, implementation, and tests
Identify, document, and track software defects through to resolution
Standards & Compliance
Ensure all V&V activities comply with applicable aerospace standards including DO-178C, DO-254, DO-160, and MIL-STD
Support DER (Designated Engineering Representative) and certification authority reviews
Contribute to Software Accomplishment Summary (SAS) and Plan for Software Aspects of Certification (PSAC)
Maintain compliance with quality management systems and configuration management processes
Leadership & Collaboration
Lead V&V activities across the project lifecycle from requirements phase through to certification
Mentor and guide junior V&V engineers
Collaborate closely with software developers, systems engineers, and project managers
Participate in technical reviews, audits.
Provide technical input to project planning and scheduling
Tools & Automation
Develop and maintain automated test scripts and test frameworks
Manage test environments, test benches, and HIL simulation setups
Maintain test documentation and configuration management of test artefacts
Required Qualifications & Experience:
Education
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field
Experience
7+ years of experience in Verification & Validation of embedded software
Minimum 5 years in aerospace, UAS, or other safety-critical domains
Demonstrated experience with DAL A, B, or C software certification projects
