SoC Program manager oversees the end-to-end development of semiconductor chips (ASIC/SoC), driving projects from architecture specification to tape-out and silicon validation. They align cross-functional engineering teams (RTL, Physical Design, Verification) to meet timelines, budgets, and quality standards. Key responsibilities include risk mitigation, resource constraints, and milestone tracking.
Program Planning & Execution:
Define project scope, deliverables, and timelines. Manage the full silicon lifecycle—from RTL design/architecture through verification to tape-out and post-silicon validation.
Cross-Functional Leadership:
Coordinate efforts between RTL design, verification, physical design, and DFT teams to ensure smooth hand-offs.
Risk Management:
Proactively identify project risks, devise mitigation plans, and resolve technical or resource bottlenecks.
Communication & Reporting:
Provide regular project status updates, manage stakeholder expectations, and lead project reviews.
Quality & Compliance:
Ensure adherence to industry standards, design methodologies, and security reviews
Experience:
Generally, 10 -15 years in VLSI engineering with experience in project management.
Technical Knowledge:
Deep understanding of the VLSI design flow, ASIC/SoC design, and EDA tools.
Technical Expertise:
Familiarity with Digital/Analog/Mixed-Signal design, DFT, and FPGA design.
Communication:
Strong interpersonal skills to manage cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Common Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or related field.
Experience with project management software and methodologies
