Senior Staff Engineer - Data Architecture
This role
is responsible for
setting the vision for, designing, and leading the end-to-end delivery of the Stryker Endoscopy, Instrument
s
, and Joint Replacement Division Operations data management framework and data architecture. In addition to defining and
maintaining
data frameworks, models, and policies to ensure data is accessible, secure, and reliable, this role will:
Partner with local business analytics teams and data engineers
to gather and build requirements aligned with business needs.
Drive testing and validation processes
to ensure accuracy and quality throughout implementation.
Oversee and support the ongoing conversion
to a new data model and platform, ensuring seamless integration and adoption.
Collaborate across functions
to deliver solutions that enable actionable insights and operational excellence.

bottlenecks, and implement improvements to data processing and retrieval.

coordinate with IT to ensure that the necessary infrastructure is rolled out and
maintained
, and that current technology supports the divisions’ goals
What you will need:
Required Skills:
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or similar technical discipline
8 to 12 years of
experience
in
data
architecture
,
data
engineerin
g
or related field
Deep competencies in designing and implementing data models (relational, dimensional, NoSQL), and database systems, and data warehouse systems. Functional proficiency in Python and SQL, and standard business intelligence tools. Strong analytical approach to problem solving, communication skills, and relationship management. Flexible and agile mindset and design approach with focus on scalability.
High proficiency in Databricks, Python, SQL, and Data Lineage tools (Purview)
Proven experience in migration and modernization initiatives, such as BW or legacy data warehouse → Databricks and designing scalable Bronze–Silver–Gold layers and shared data standards for a common analytics platform. Have exposure to operations and supply chain data domains (orders, inventory, supply, logistics, manufacturing, etc.) and act as a technical thought partner aligning platform design with business needs
Collaborate across
multiple teams and stakeholders
(engineering, IT, business) to converge on
common data solutions
, then translate those agreements into
clear, scalable platform designs
Preferred Skills:
SAP system knowledge
Experience in Azure Data Factory and Azure SQL
Travel Percentage: 10%
