Our Network platform strategy team is a multi-disciplinary team with ownership and accountability to envision & build the next generation of our core network. The team’s goal is to ensure the long-term competitiveness of our card network versus alternatives, for existing and new payments use cases; and to grow revenue by delivering more value to our bank customers, as well as cardholders and merchants.
Role Overview
The role offers an opportunity to join the Network Product team driving multiple Mastercard products. As a Senior Specialist, Product Development, you will be responsible for:
Defining technical requirements using ISO 20022 and ISO 8583 message specifications for new products and platform capabilities.
Driving innovation using AI/GenAI technologies to improve product development, automation, operational efficiency, and engineering workflows.
Driving product strategy across authorization, clearing, settlement, and payment network processing domains.
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to manage message specifications and API-first product integrations.
Working with RESTful APIs, JSON/XML payloads, authentication mechanisms, and service integration frameworks.
Translating ISO 20022 / ISO 8583 specifications into scalable API-based service definitions.
Managing release readiness and supporting successful product and feature launches.
Presenting proposals, strategy, and progress updates to Product leadership and key stakeholders.
An Ideal Candidate Should Have
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience (required)
5+ years of Product Management / Product Development / Product Owner experience (preferred)
Strong hands-on experience in Cards & Payments domain (required)
Strong knowledge of ISO 8583 transaction flows and messaging standards (required)
Experience/knowledge of ISO 20022 standards and specifications management (preferred)
Good understanding of authorization, clearing, settlement, and payment network processing (required)
Experience with REST APIs, API-first product design, and JSON/XML payload structures (preferred)
Basic SQL/Python and analytical skills (preferred)
Practical hands-on exposure to AI/GenAI technologies (highly preferred)
Experience building, integrating, or experimenting with LLMs, AI automation solutions, prompt engineering, AI-assisted development tools will be a strong advantage
Ability to apply AI technologies to solve practical business or engineering problems (preferred)
Strong analytical, communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills (required)
Ability to work independently, manage complex initiatives, and adapt to shifting priorities (required)
Passion for technology, innovation, payments, AI, and digital commerce (preferred)
