For more information, please visit www.wbd.com Meet Our Team: The Global Localization Platform team is responsible for an  automated string management platform  that transforms how we handle user-facing text across all our products, as well as the tools and tooling components used to manage localizations through self-service within our internal suite of tools called Studio. This platform significantly boosts the productivity of Copywriters and Translation Operations, while improving the workflow for development teams that integrate language strings. By automating string collection, translation and deployment, the team ensures higher-quality English and translated strings are delivered faster and more consistently. In short, our team’s work underpins the  localization  efforts that make Warner Bros. Discovery’s streaming products truly global.  Roles & Responsibilities: We are hiring a Senior Software Engineer to join the Global Localization Platform team in Bangalore, India. As a Senior Engineer:  You are a recognized subject matter expert in one or more areas of our production systems.  You have consistently demonstrated the ability to independently design, build and ship high-quality features at scale  You work on complex problems with diverse technical dimensions, proactively bringing clarity to ambiguous requirements and proposing sound, scalable solutions.  You operate with a high degree of autonomy, requiring minimal oversight.  You take pride in delivering robust, maintainable and well-tested code that meets both functional and non-functional requirements.  You continuously improve the quality of our systems and our engineering practices, thinking long-term about the health of our codebases, observability and documentation.  You are also an active contributor to a collaborative, inclusive team environment.  Your impact goes beyond code. You are a persuasive communicator who influences your peers through thoughtful design and code reviews and you adapt your communication style to different audiences.  You frequently interact with stakeholders and adjacent teams and you help align cross-functional efforts through strong technical writing and documentation.  You mentor and support less experienced engineers, helping them become productive and successful team members.  Design, develop and maintain scalable backend and frontend services that power WBD’s localization infrastructure, enabling fast and high-quality delivery of multilingual content across platforms like HBO Max, Discovery+ and CNN.  Take ownership of major technical components of the  Global Localization  platform, contributing to architectural decisions and proposing solutions for performance, scalability and reliability challenges.  Lead by example in writing clean, maintainable and well-tested code across technologies including  Node.js ,  Java ,  React  and  TypeScript .  Drive feature implementation from idea to production — breaking down requirements, proposing designs, estimating effort, writing code, creating tests and monitoring after deployment.  Actively participate in code reviews and design discussions, helping raise the technical bar and foster a culture of engineering excellence and collaboration.  Contribute to building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure configurations and cloud deployments using AWS-native services and DevOps tooling.  Take a leading role in troubleshooting and resolving complex production issues — analyzing logs, metrics, traces and system behavior to identify root causes and define long-term improvements.  Continuously improve observability and system resilience through implementation of real-time dashboards, proactive alerting and fault tolerance patterns.  Work closely with product managers, localization experts and other engineers to deliver features that are robust, usable, user-friendly and well-integrated into the broader ecosystem.  Support and mentor junior engineers, promoting technical growth and knowledge sharing across the team.  Stay up to date with modern engineering practices, tools and architectural patterns; drive adoption of relevant innovations within the team.  You actively optimize team processes to improve efficiency and quality, driving long-term improvements alongside short-term deliverables.  What to Bring: 5 - 9years  of professional software engineering experience, delivering robust, high-scale backend and frontend systems in production environments.  Advanced experience with  backend development  using  Node.js  and  frontend development  using  TypeScript .  Localization workflow experience is mandatory. Hands-on expertise with  AWS cloud services , particularly Serverless, Lambda, API Gateway, Step Functions, S3, DynamoDB, CloudWatch and EventBridge.  Strong understanding of  microservice architecture , asynchronous systems and communication protocols (REST, gRPC, event-driven).  Experience with  DevOps practices  including Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD (e.g., GitHub Actions) and infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).  Practical knowledge of databases:  PostgreSQL ,  DynamoDB  and caching/search solutions such as  Redis  and  Elasticsearch.   Strong focus on system  observability  — comfortable setting up dashboards, defining alerts and analyzing operational data using tools like Cloudwatch, Prometheus, Kibana and Grafana.  Familiarity with  localization or internationalization challenges  (e.g., ICU format, string management, translation workflows, Unicode handling) is a plus.  Proven ability to break down complex problems, design modular solutions and communicate technical decisions clearly.  Demonstrated mentoring ability and active participation in raising team quality through reviews, pairing and documentation.  Effective communicator across disciplines — capable of presenting and justifying technical approaches to peers and stakeholders.  Experience working in agile, product-driven environments and contributing meaningfully to planning and prioritization.  What We Offer: A Great Place to work Equal opportunity employer Fast track growth opportunities.
