Center of Excellence for asynchronous messaging
across the organization. We design, build, and evolve a global event streaming platform that enables teams to build reliable, scalable, event-driven systems.
We treat messaging as a

secure, scalable, and easy to adopt
for engineering teams worldwide.
We build and operate a
Kafka-as-a-Service platform on Confluent Cloud
, supporting high-throughput telemetry pipelines, business-critical event streams, and large-scale data processing systems.
We are looking for a
Senior Software Engineer
who is passionate about distributed systems, platform engineering, and cloud automation to help evolve our messaging platform and guide the adoption of event-driven architecture across the organization.

As a Senior Engineer, you will play a key role in shaping the platform, influencing architectural decisions, and mentoring other engineers on distributed systems and messaging best practices.
What You’ll Do
Platform Architecture & Development
Design and evolve our
Kafka-as-a-Service platform
built on Confluent Cloud.
Architect scalable, secure, and resilient Kafka deployments across multiple regions.
Develop platform automation and tooling using
Python, Java, or Go
.
Design and implement
Infrastructure-as-Code solutions using Terraform on AWS
.
Improve platform capabilities including observability, reliability, scalability, and operational automation.
Messaging Architecture & Enablement
Guide engineering teams in designing
event-driven architectures
.
Provide best practices for:
Topic design and partitioning strategies
Consumer scaling and performance optimization
Schema governance and evolution
Event versioning strategies
Design and implement
self-service platform capabilities
for internal engineering teams.
Operational Excellence
Improve platform reliability, monitoring, and incident response processes.
Participate in and help lead
on-call rotations and incident resolution
.
Drive automation that reduces operational overhead and improves platform resilience.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).
5-8 years of professional software engineering experience
.
Strong programming experience in
Python, Java, or Go
.
Hands-on experience with
Kafka administration or operations
(Confluent Cloud preferred).
Experience designing or operating
distributed systems in production
.
Strong experience with
AWS cloud infrastructure
.
Experience building
Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform or similar tools
.
Experience operating and troubleshooting production systems at scale.
Strong understanding of
distributed systems fundamentals
.
Preferred Experience
Experience in one or more of the following areas:
Operating
Kafka at scale
, including:
Topic configuration and partition strategies
Consumer group scaling
Schema Registry management
Multi-region replication and disaster recovery
Event-driven architecture and streaming frameworks (e.g., Kafka Streams).
Kubernetes-based distributed systems.
High-throughput, low-latency systems.
Observability platforms (metrics, tracing, logging).
Experience working in globally distributed engineering teams.
