About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Software Engineer
In this role, you will:
Lead moderately complex initiatives within Technology and contribute to large scale data processing framework initiatives related to enterprise strategy deliverables
Build and maintain optimized and highly available data pipelines that facilitate deeper analysis and reporting
Review and analyze moderately complex business, operational or technical challenges that require an in-depth evaluation of variable factors
Oversee the data integration work, including developing a data model, maintaining a data warehouse and analytics environment, and writing scripts for data integration and analysis
Resolve moderately complex issues and lead teams to meet data engineering deliverables while leveraging solid understanding of data information policies, procedures and compliance requirements
Collaborate and consult with colleagues and managers to resolve data engineering issues and achieve strategic goals
Required Qualifications:
4+ years of Data Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
SQL & Database Performance
Strong expertise in SQL development
Experience in relational databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL)
Knowledge of query optimization and performance tuning
Experience in designing and managing data warehouses and data marts
Data Warehousing & Analytics
More than 6 years experience in data warehousing and analytics
Experience designing star/snowflake schemas
Strong understanding of ETL/ELT processes
Job Expectations:
Hadoop, Spark, Python & Distributed Technologies
4+ years of experience in data engineering and analytics
Hands-on experience with Hadoop ecosystem (HDFS, Hive,Spark,Scala)
Strong experience in Apache Spark for large-scale data processing
Proficiency in Python for data processing and pipeline development
Experience working with distributed data systems and big data architecture
Cloud Technologies (GCP)
Experience working on Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
Strong knowledge of:
Dataproc for Spark/Hadoop workloads
BigQuery for data warehousing and analytics
Dataplex for data governance
Cloud Composer (Airflow) for workflow orchestration
Ability to design and optimize cloud-based data solutions
AI/ML, Generative & Agentic AI
Basic to intermediate experience in AI/ML models
Exposure to Generative AI tools and frameworks
Knowledge of Agentic AI for automation and faster development
Ability to support data pipelines for AI/ML workloads
SDLC & CI/CD
Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
Experience with CI/CD tools for build and deployment
Knowledge of version control tools like Git
Experience in automated testing and deployment pipeline
