<p>We are looking for an experienced<strong> Backend Engineer</strong> to join the <a href="https://www.veeam.com/products/veeam-data-cloud.html">Veeam Data Cloud (VDC)</a> engineering team. You will be working with a global team to build next-generation data protection services focused on ensuring data resilience for our customers.</p>
<p>This is a unique opportunity to work on greenfield projects, building features from the ground up that will be deployed and utilized worldwide.</p>
<h4><span data-teams="true">What You'll Do</span></h4>
<ul>
<li>Design and develop reliable, scalable and globally available cloud services that protect data stored in SaaS services like Microsoft 365</li>
<li>Participate in technical design discussions, reviewing code, and providing feedback to other engineers</li>
<li>Ensure your code is high-quality, thoroughly tested, and secure</li>
<li>Take ownership of the reliability and efficiency of your services running in the cloud</li>
<li>Participate in on-call rotation for product operations</li>
</ul>
<h4 data-prosemirror-content-type="node" data-prosemirror-node-name="heading" data-prosemirror-node-block="true"><span data-teams="true">What You'll Bring</span><strong><span data-teams="true"> </span></strong></h4>
<ul>
<li>5+ years of experience in the software development industry</li>
<li>Exposure to designing, building, and implementing SaaS or large-scale cloud services on Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)</li>
<li>Expertise with a modern programming language like Go, C#, Java, Scala, or Rust</li>
<li>Strong computer science fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, and concurrency)</li>
<li>Demonstrated expertise designing, building, and implementing core features in production services or software</li>
<li>Experience developing, testing, and debugging production-quality, scalable, multithreaded, concurrent systems</li>
<li>Passion for code quality, extensibility, coding standards, testing and automation</li>
</ul>
<h4><span data-teams="true"><strong>Bonus Skills</strong></span></h4>
<ul>
<li>Experience building systems that handle large volumes of data, including data storage, data transfer, and data manipulation systems</li>
<li>Experience building data protection or security products</li>
<li>Experience building and operating SaaS services using public cloud</li>
