Senior QA Engineer – Mobile & Web Connectivity (Ownership-Driven Role)
Role Overview
We are looking for a Senior QA Engineer who owns quality across both mobile and web applications in connectivity-driven ecosystems (e.g., Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, IoT platforms, cloud-connected systems).
This role goes beyond validation—you are accountable for delivering a seamless, reliable, cross-platform user experience under real-world conditions. You will proactively identify risks across frontend, backend, and device communication layers, ensuring that connectivity flows work flawlessly across mobile apps, web apps, and integrated systems.
Key Responsibilities
Take accountability for ensuring consistent functionality and user experience across Android, iOS, and web applications.
Design and enforce test strategies that cover UI, API, and connectivity layers, ensuring alignment between mobile and web behaviors.
Own validation of flows involving device pairing, syncing, real-time updates, and network-dependent features across both mobile and web.
Take ownership of automation frameworks using tools like Selenium/Cypress/Playwright (web) and Appium/Espresso/XCUITest (mobile), ensuring high reliability and coverage.
Ensure applications perform reliably under varying conditions such as low bandwidth, high latency, network switching, and intermittent connectivity.
Own validation of APIs and data consistency across platforms using tools like Postman or Rest Assured.
Proactively detect inconsistencies between mobile and web experiences and lead initiatives to standardize behavior and improve reliability.
Collaborate with frontend, backend, and DevOps teams to ensure quality is built into every layer—from UI to APIs to infrastructure.
Define and track metrics such as defect leakage, automation coverage, cross-platform consistency, and production reliability.
Take accountability for diagnosing complex issues across mobile apps, web apps, APIs, and network layers.
Guide QA engineers toward standardized, scalable, and ownership-driven testing practices across platforms.
Requirements
5+ years of QA experience with ownership across mobile and web applications.
Strong hands-on experience in mobile testing (Android/iOS) and web testing.
Proven experience with at least one automation tool:
Web: Cypress, or Playwright
Mobile: Appium, Espresso
Experience testing connectivity-driven systems (network-dependent features, device integrations, or real-time systems).
Solid understanding of API testing and backend validation.
Strong knowledge of network behavior (latency, packet loss, throttling, offline scenarios).
Experience working across multiple browsers, devices, and OS versions.
Proficiency in debugging using tools like browser dev tools, ADB, proxies (Charles/Fiddler), etc.
Strong understanding of Agile, CI/CD, and shift-left testing practices.
Proven ability to drive QA improvements and take ownership of outcomes.
Nice to Have
Experience with IoT or device-integrated ecosystems.
Familiarity with performance and load testing tools (JMeter, Gatling).
Experience integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines.
