About this role

We are seeking a Senior Performance Test Engineer with strong expertise in non-functional testing, especially performance observability and chaos engineering. This role involves the full testing lifecycle, from strategy design to hands-on execution and monitoring. You will work collaboratively with architects, engineers, and cross-functional squads to ensure high performance, reliability, and resilience of critical systems across product domains. Performance Testing & Observability Own the Performance Testing and Observability framework across the product domain. Develop and implement observability and test strategies with Domain Architects and Engineering Managers. Design and execute performance tests on Microservices (REST/SOAP APIs) and FrontEnd layers. Create and maintain performance dashboards using tools like Grafana and Prometheus. Ensure performance requirements are met for all deployed software solutions. Work with development squads to identify, reproduce, and resolve performance issues, including those reported by customers. Chaos Engineering & Failure Simulation Design and run controlled failure simulations (e.g., service outages, latency injection, packet loss). Automate chaos testing scenarios and report findings with actionable insights. Monitor system behavior under stress and conduct root cause analysis of bottlenecks. Collaboration & Process Improvement Act as a performance coach and subject matter expert across engineering squads. Participate in test planning, test strategy documentation, and quality assurance activities. Collaborate in defect triage and prioritization discussions. Support the team in delivering high-quality outcomes within agreed project timelines. 7+ years of experience Strong Expertise In below tools Performance Testing Tools: JMeter, HP LoadRunner Observability & Monitoring: Prometheus, Grafana Chaos & Automation: Bash scripting, Wiremock Version Control & CI/CD: Git, GitHub, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Cloudbees Test & Project Management Tools: JIRA, Confluence Database Performance Tuning: Deep experience in analyzing and optimizing SQL queries, resolving bottlenecks, and implementing partitioning strategies for high-volume data handling across relational databases. Should have worked on groovy programming language. Intermediate knowledge of SQL queries, Jenkins knowledge. Additional Technologies: OpenShift (for container orchestration and deployment) REST, SOAP, Swagger (API testing) Unix/Linux and Windows environments Familiarity with Java performance tuning: GC analysis, heap dump, profiling Nice to Have Experience in Service Virtualization: Mock-ups, Stubs, Docker Coding experience with automated test frameworks (preferably in Java) Background in Financial Services or Banking domains Soft Skills & Cultural Fit Proven ability to address both functional and non-functional testing challenges. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent documentation and communication capabilities. Fluent in English with the ability to thrive in international, multicultural teams.
