Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Insurance Manager to oversee and manage all aspects of Project Insurance, Marine Insurance, and Workmen’s Compensation (WC) for the organization. The role is responsible for ensuring comprehensive risk coverage, efficient claims management, and full compliance with statutory and contractual requirements.
The ideal candidate will bring strong domain expertise in infrastructure/EPC insurance practices, along with the ability to collaborate across functions and manage complex insurance portfolios.
Key Responsibilities
1. Insurance Strategy & Management
Develop and implement comprehensive insurance strategies aligned with project and organizational risk profiles.
Ensure adequate and cost-effective insurance coverage across construction, marine cargo, and WC policies.
Assess risk exposures and recommend appropriate insurance solutions and coverage structures.
2. Marine Insurance
Manage marine cargo insurance for both domestic and international shipments.
Coordinate with logistics, procurement, and shipping teams to ensure timely policy issuance and coverage.
Handle and resolve claims related to transit loss or damage efficiently.
3. Workmen’s Compensation (WC)
Ensure WC insurance coverage across all project sites and operations.
Collaborate with HR and contractors to verify compliance for employees and subcontracted workforce.
Process and manage WC claims, ensuring timely settlements with insurers.
4. Project Insurance (CAR/EAR/DSU, etc.)
Oversee procurement, renewal, and management of Contractor’s All Risk (CAR), Erection All Risk (EAR), Delay in Start-Up (DSU), and related policies.
Ensure vendors and subcontractors are adequately insured or contractually indemnified.
Review contract terms to align insurance coverage with project obligations.
5. Claims Management
Manage end-to-end claims lifecycle including documentation, assessment, negotiation, and settlement.
Act as the primary liaison between internal stakeholders, insurers, and loss adjusters.
Maintain a centralized claims database and track status updates for management review.
6. Compliance & Reporting
Ensure all insurance policies comply with statutory, legal, and contractual requirements.
Maintain accurate and updated records of policies, endorsements, and claims.
Generate periodic MIS reports on insurance coverage, risk exposure, and claims performance for senior leadership.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Insurance, Risk Management, or a related field; MBA preferred.
Professional certifications such as FIII, ACII, or equivalent are desirable.
12–18 years of relevant experience in insurance management within infrastructure, EPC, or logistics sectors.
Strong knowledge of project insurance (CAR/EAR), marine insurance, and WC regulations.
