Candidates who view AI tools as optional or experimental are not the right fit for this organization.   The Mission: What You'll Be Building You will lead teams delivering key capabilities across QAD’s intelligent, adaptive platform, including cloud‑native services, APIs, and AI‑enabled workflows supporting global manufacturing customers. Track Lead for ERP Modernization, owning the end-to-end migration of business logic from Progress to Java/PostgreSQL.   Your Impact/ What you will be doing:  Define the migration roadmap and rollback strategy for the full Progress → Java/PgSQL migration Lead the App Migration and DB Migration squads; manage 1× M5 EM, 2× P6 Principal Engineers, and 16 SWEs Set Java/Spring Boot and PostgreSQL architecture standards in collaboration with Principal Engineers Design and run structured knowledge-extraction programs to capture legacy ERP domain logic before migration Own stakeholder communication — translate migration complexity into clear risk and progress reporting for the VPE Lead hiring for the 20-person track What we are looking for  12+ years in software engineering with at least 5 years leading teams Proven track record of delivering large-scale legacy migrations (ERP, monolith, or platform) end-to-end Deep Java/Spring Boot expertise — can review architecture decisions and earn the respect of P6 Principals Strong PostgreSQL knowledge — schema migration, query optimization, and replication strategies Experience managing an Engineering Manager  within your team Prior ERP experience — SAP, Oracle, or QAD platform knowledge Progress/OpenEdge or MOPTE codebase familiarity Experience with Kafka/CDC for live data migration pipelines   The Mindset: Delivery Leader: Owns outcomes and drives teams toward predictable, high-quality delivery.
