Section II: Job Summary
The Quality Senior Manager – BESS will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing quality systems, processes, and standards across BESS R&D, manufacturing, assembly, and field deployment. This role ensures compliance with international standards (ISO, IEC, UL, BIS, etc.), regulatory requirements, customer specifications, and internal quality policies. The candidate will lead QA/QC teams, oversee supplier quality, drive continuous improvement, and ensure the highest reliability, safety, and performance of BESS products.

1. Quality Strategy & Leadership
·
Establish and implement a comprehensive Quality Management System (QMS) for BESS operations.
·
Define and enforce quality standards, policies, and inspection protocols across the value chain.
·
Lead internal and external quality audits and ensure ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 27001 compliance.
·
Develop a culture of “zero-defect” and continuous improvement across manufacturing and project execution.
2. Supplier & Incoming Quality
·
Implement supplier qualification, auditing, and performance evaluation for battery cells, modules, containers, electrical components, etc.
·
Ensure incoming materials and parts meet defined specifications through strict IQC (Incoming Quality Control).
·
Collaborate with sourcing, SCM, and R&D for vendor development and corrective actions.
3. Manufacturing & Process Quality
·
Oversee in-process and final product inspections during cell, module, battery pack, container fabrication, and system integration.
·
Develop quality control plans, inspection checklists, and acceptance criteria.
·
Implement Lean Six Sigma tools to eliminate defects, reduce rework, and enhance process capability.
4. Testing & Validation Quality
·
Ensure compliance with type tests, performance tests, reliability tests, and certification requirements (IEC 62619, IEC 62933, UL 9540, etc.).
·
Monitor quality of electrical, mechanical, thermal, and software validation processes.
·
Coordinate with R&D teams to ensure design validation and reliability improvements.
5. Project Site & Field Quality
·
Implement quality assurance protocols for BESS installation, commissioning, and O&M.
·
Conduct field audits to ensure compliance with design, safety, and customer requirements.
·
Manage non-conformance reports (NCRs), root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
6. Documentation & Reporting
·
Maintain detailed quality documentation: SOPs, inspection reports, CAPA reports, audit findings.
·
Provide regular quality dashboards and KPI reports to senior management.
·
Ensure traceability of critical components and records throughout the product lifecycle.

Qualifications
B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics / Industrial Engineering (Master’s preferred).
Technical Skills
MS Office & Project,
Knowledge of SAP is preferred

Specific Experience
10–15 years of quality management experience, with at least 5 years in battery, renewable energy, automotive (EV/BESS), or power projects.

Proven track record in supplier quality, manufacturing quality, and field quality management.
·
Experience in handling certifications and regulatory approvals for BESS/energy storage products.
