Job Purpose:
To lead and drive the sales function for high-voltage transformers (EHV & UHV) across key customers such as transmission utilities, EPC contractors, and large-scale infrastructure projects. The role involves strategic customer engagement, project acquisition, techno-commercial negotiations, and expanding market presence.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement sales strategies for large power transformers (EHV & UHV) across India and export markets.
Manage high-value project sales involving tendering, bidding, and finalization with government utilities (e.g., PGCIL, state transmission companies) and private EPCs.
Identify new business opportunities and build strategic relationships with key clients, consultants, and government authorities.
Lead proposal development including pricing strategies, commercial terms, and technical coordination.
Coordinate with engineering, SCM, finance, and project execution teams to ensure proposal feasibility and timely execution.
Monitor competitor activities, pricing trends, and market developments to inform strategic decisions.
Maintain accurate sales forecasts, pipeline tracking, and performance reporting.
Mentor and guide junior sales team members to build a high-performing sales organization.
Qualifications:
Education:
B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering; MBA in Marketing/Business is preferred.
Experience:
Minimum 12 years of proven experience in transformer sales, with at least 5 years in selling EHV & UHV transformers for utility-scale projects.
Domain Expertise:
Deep understanding of power transmission sector (PGCIL, SEBs, EPCs).
Knowledge of technical specifications and design criteria for EHV transformers.
Familiarity with tendering process (public and private sector) and contractual frameworks.
