Job Title: Senior Go Developer
Location: Bangalore
Experience: 5+ Years
Employment Type: Full-time
About Zanskar Research
Zanskar Research is a quantitative proprietary trading firm headquartered in Bangalore, operating at the cutting edge of high-frequency and algorithmic trading across Indian and global markets. Our edge is technology - and we intend to keep it that way. Every microsecond counts, and the engineers who build here understand that deeply.
The Role
We're looking for a highly experienced Go engineer to join our core infrastructure team. You'll be embedded in the engine room - building, optimizing, and scaling the systems that power our trading strategies. This is a fully onsite role in Bangalore, 5 days a week, working alongside a tight-knit team of quants and engineers.
Responsibilities
Design and build low-latency, high-throughput trading infrastructure in Go
Develop and maintain order management systems (OMS), execution engines, and market data pipelines
Optimize critical paths for sub-millisecond performance — profiling, benchmarking, and tuning
Integrate with exchange APIs (NSE, BSE, CME, or similar) and co-location environments
Build reliable, observable internal services using gRPC, Protobuf, and messaging systems
Work closely with quant researchers to implement and deploy strategy-level components
Own reliability — participate in incident response and own SLOs for your systems
Review code, set architectural standards, and uplift the engineering team technically
Requirements
5+ years of professional Go development with production deployments at scale
Expert-level understanding of Go concurrency: goroutines, channels, sync primitives, context management
Deep knowledge of Go's memory model, GC behavior, and performance profiling (pprof, trace)
Demonstrable experience building low-latency or real-time systems (HFT, trading, gaming, telecom, etc.)
Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, kernel bypass, and socket optimization
Hands-on with Linux performance tuning: CPU affinity, NUMA, IRQ affinity, huge pages
Experience with market data feeds, FIX protocol, or financial exchange connectivity — a strong plus
Proficiency with gRPC / Protobuf and high-performance message brokers (Kafka, NATS, or similar)
Solid fundamentals in distributed systems: consistency, fault tolerance, clock synchronization
Comfortable reading and reasoning about x86 assembly for hot-path optimization
Nice to Have
Experience with co-location environments and exchange proximity hosting
Working knowledge of C++ or Rust for ultra-hot-path components
Familiarity with FPGA or kernel-bypass networking (DPDK, RDMA)
Prior experience at a prop trading firm, HFT shop, or quant fund
Understanding of market microstructure — order books, tick data, spread dynamics
