Job Purpose:
To execute and monitor daily production activities in the tablet manufacturing department ensuring compliance with cGMP, safety, and quality standards while maintaining accurate documentation and production targets.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor and maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the tablet manufacturing area.
Execute daily, weekly, and monthly production plans as per schedules.
Manufacture products according to the production plan and provide instructions to operators and workmen.
Coordinate with cross-functional departments like Stores, QC, QA, and Engineering as required.
Fill out and maintain online Batch Manufacturing Records (BMR) and ensure timely documentation.
Inspect, supervise, and operate production machinery and equipment as needed.
Coordinate with Engineering for preventive maintenance and breakdown repairs.
Maintain and update documentation for statutory compliance and productivity improvement.
Perform calibration, equipment validation, and process validation activities in the production section.
Review and verify completed BMRs for accuracy and compliance.
Responsible for real-time ERP/SAP entries related to production activities.
Ensure cleaning and sanitization of drains and production areas.
Support production activities in compliance with Quality Management Systems (QMS) and cGMP guidelines.
Handle the disposal of online rejects and scrap material appropriately.
Ensure calibration and verification of weighing balances and maintain standard weights.
Manage and report spillages and in-process rejections during production.
Monitor and record environmental parameters like temperature, humidity, and pressure differentials as per SOPs.
Update equipment, instrument logbooks, and related production documentation.
Prepare disinfectant solutions like Teepol, Dettol, Savlon as per operational requirements.
Clean miscellaneous production utensils like scoops, spatulas, vessels, in-process bins, etc., as per SOPs.
Operate, clean, and verify analytical balances.
Operate and clean compression machines, metal detectors, and de-dusters following procedures.
Manage punch set issuance, usage, cleaning, and retrieval processes.
Calibrate and operate in-process instruments like Disintegration Test Apparatus, Friability Test Apparatus, Hardness Testers, and Moisture Analyzers.
Perform batch reconciliation at the end of production operations.
Oversee day store usage and ensure proper material and personnel movement.
Ensure timely MRP run in SAP as per the production plan and communicate material shortages to the Purchase team.
Conduct fogging of production areas as per schedules.
Initiate and document change controls, deviations, and incidents as per QMS requirements.
Prepare and revise batch packing records in line with product and change management requirements.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
Education:
B.Pharm / M.Pharm / B.Sc / M.Sc or equivalent.
Experience:
2–5 years of experience in tablet manufacturing (Granulation, Compression, Coating, Packing).
Technical Skills:
Knowledge of cGMP, QMS, and regulatory requirements.
Hands-on experience in SAP/ERP systems.
Experience in equipment calibration, validation, and in-process quality control.
Behavioral Skills:
Attention to detail.
Good communication and coordination skills.
Problem-solving approach and ability to work in shifts.
