Senior Engineer – Railway Ballastless Track Work

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Civil/Structural Engineer to lead the design, engineering analysis, and execution of railway ballastless track projects across India. The role involves detailed structural calculations, technical feasibility evaluation, cost estimation, and on-site construction supervision while ensuring full compliance with Indian Railway standards, RDSO specifications, and international best practices.
The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise in ballastless track systems along with project execution and stakeholder coordination capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Design & Engineering Analysis
Lead detailed design calculations for ballastless track systems including slab design, structural load distribution, and foundation analysis.
Perform structural modeling using STAAD Pro / SAP2000 and prepare track layouts using AutoCAD.
Conduct geotechnical assessments and define foundation and drainage requirements.
Prepare BOQs, cost estimates, and technical specifications as per IRS & RDSO standards.
Ensure track alignment, gradient, curve geometry, and tolerance compliance.
Evaluate alternative engineering solutions for cost-effectiveness and sustainability.
2. Project Planning & Execution
Lead end-to-end design and execution from concept to commissioning.
Conduct feasibility studies, baseline surveys, and site investigations.
Develop project schedules, resource planning, and risk mitigation strategies.
Coordinate with Railway Authorities, RDSO, consultants, and clients for approvals.
3. Site Supervision & Quality Control
Provide on-site technical leadership and resolve engineering issues.
Conduct quality audits, material testing, and compliance inspections.
Ensure adherence to IRS, IS Codes, contractual specifications, and safety norms.
Monitor ESG compliance and safety management practices.
4. Cost & Contract Management
Monitor budgets and control cost variations.
Prepare variation orders and technical documentation for claims.
Optimize manpower, materials, and construction sequencing.
5. Team Leadership & Coordination
Mentor junior engineers and site staff.
Collaborate with structural, geotechnical, survey, and contractor teams.
Prepare technical reports and progress documentation.
Drive continuous improvement in engineering practices.
Required Qualifications
Education
B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering (Mandatory)
M.E./M.Tech in Structural / Transportation / Railway Engineering (Preferred)
Experience
Minimum 5+ years in railway infrastructure projects.
Strong exposure to ballastless track systems.
Hands-on experience in structural design calculations and BOQ preparation.
Proven experience in managing site execution and contractor coordination.
