For more details, please visit https://paxcom.ai/ >> https://paymentus.com/ Role Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Database & Data Engineering Specialist with strong expertise in database systems, data warehousing platforms, and modern programming technologies. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, optimizing, and maintaining scalable data solutions across transactional databases and cloud-based data warehouses. This role requires deep hands-on technical capabilities, strong data engineering skills, and experience in data modeling, ETL/ELT, and NCLC-based coding practices. Key Responsibilities Database Engineering & Management: Design, develop, and optimize relational and NoSQL database systems for high performance and scalability. Work extensively with databases such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server, MongoDB, and other database technologies. Implement schema design, indexing strategies, query tuning, partitioning, replication, and backup/recovery solutions. Ensure database security, data quality, and governance best practices. Data Warehousing & Cloud Data Platforms Design and implement data warehousing solutions leveraging Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Azure Synapse or equivalent cloud platforms. Build and enhance ELT/ETL pipelines for structured and unstructured data ingestion. Implement best practices for data modeling , performance optimization, clustering, and warehouse cost governance. Data Engineering & Programming: Build scalable data pipelines and automation scripts using Python, Node.js or similar languages. Develop reusable data components, microservices, and integrations across data systems. Implement NCLC (No-Code/Low-Code) based development approaches wherever applicable. Collaborate with analytics teams to enable data availability for BI, reporting, ML, and product use cases. Data Analysis & Cross-functional Collaboration: Perform exploratory data analysis to drive insights, improve data structures, and identify optimization opportunities. Work closely with Data Analysts, BI Engineers, and Product & Engineering teams to support data-driven solutions. Provide guidance on best data engineering, architecture, and development practices. Required Skills & Qualifications Bachelor’s/Master’s in Computer Science, Data Engineering, IT, or related field. 5-8 years of experience in database engineering, data warehousing, or data engineering roles (adjust as needed). Strong expertise in: SQL & PL/SQL development PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL/MariaDB, MongoDB (any additional DBs are a plus) Snowflake, Big Query, Redshift, or similar modern data warehouses Strong programming skills in Python and/or Node.js for data pipelines and automation. Experience with data modeling, ETL/ELT tools, and data architecture concepts. Familiarity with DevOps practices for databases (CI/CD, Git, Data Ops, versioning). Experience with No-Code/Low-Code (NCLC) based platforms for rapid development (nice to have). Preferred/Good-to-Have Skills Knowledge of Kafka, Spark, Airflow, dbt, or similar data pipeline tools. Exposure to ML model data enablement or analytics engineering. Ability to handle big data technologies and distributed data systems. Soft Skills Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills. Ability to work in fast-paced and cross-functional environments. Excellent communication and documentation skills.
