Job Description
In this vital role, you will support the
Operations Finance team
, with a primary focus on
standard costing execution and analysis
across Amgen’s manufacturing network. You will work closely with global stakeholders and play a key role in ensuring accurate product costing, inventory valuation, and variance analysis.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Support the
end‑to‑end standard costing process
, including preparation, system updates, and validation of standard costs
Maintain and update
standard costs
in SAP S/4Hana (including material, BOM, routing, and overhead components)
Perform
monthly costing-related variance analysis
(standard vs actual), including PPV, usage, and overhead variances
Support
inventory accounting activities
, including inventory valuation, reconciliations, and roll‑forwards
Assist with
absorption testing
, excess capacity analysis, and related reporting
Prepare and review
journal entries
, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules related to inventory and costing
Support
audit requirements
, in collaboration with Cost Accounting
Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, and Global Finance teams to resolve costing issues and data gaps
Support
S/4HANA system enhancements, testing, and data validation
related to costing and inventory
Participate in
continuous improvement and automation initiatives
within costing and inventory processes

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
Minimum
5 years of experience
in cost accounting, inventory accounting, or manufacturing finance
Hands‑on experience with
standard costing
and variance analysis in a complex manufacturing environment
Experience working with
SAP
(S/4HANA preferred)
Fluency in
English
Preferred Qualifications
CA / CMA / CPA or MBA (Finance)
Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or manufacturing environments
Strong understanding of
inventory accounting and US GAAP
Advanced Excel skills; experience with automation or reporting tools is a plus
Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder‑management skills
Ability to work effectively in a
global, matrixed environment
