Role Description
The Senior Analyst – Tax Operations is responsible for end-to-end execution and oversight of operational tax processes including tax reclaims, relief at source, withholding tax remittance, tax authority reporting, reconciliations, and client disclosures.
The role requires strong technical understanding of global withholding tax concepts, high attention to detail, robust control mindset, and the ability to manage time‑critical deliverables while collaborating with multiple stakeholders.

Your key responsibilities
Tax Reclaims & Relief at Source (RAS)
Execute and monitor
withholding tax reclaims
across multiple jurisdictions in line with Double Tax Treaties (DTT).
Manage
Relief at Source (RAS)
eligibility checks, documentation validation (W‑8/W‑9 / local equivalents), and entitlement tracking.
Liaise with custodians, tax authorities, and internal stakeholders to resolve reclaim queries and follow up on pending claims.
Maintain reclaim inventory, track ageing, and provide periodic status reporting.
Withholding Tax Remittance
Ensure
accurate calculation and remittance of withholding tax
to tax authorities within statutory deadlines.
Perform validations on tax rates applied, exemptions, and treaty benefits prior to remittance.
Support true‑ups, corrections, and adjustments arising from late documentation or exceptions.
Reporting & Regulatory Compliance
Prepare and support
statutory and regulatory tax reporting
(including client tax reporting where applicable).
Support processes such as
Chapter 3 / Chapter 4, FATCA / CRS‑related outputs
, or jurisdiction‑specific tax disclosures as applicable to the business.
Assist in audit, regulatory reviews, and control testing by providing data, evidence, and responses.
Reconciliation & Controls
Perform
tax, cash, and balance sheet reconciliations
, ensuring timely resolution of breaks.
Investigate variances, identify root causes, and coordinate corrective actions.
Ensure adherence to
operational controls, SOPs, and risk & control frameworks
.
Client Reporting & Stakeholder Management
Prepare
client-level tax statements, confirmations, and disclosures
in line with service agreements.
Respond to client and internal queries within agreed SLAs.
Partner with Front Office, Operations, Technology, Compliance, and Legal teams for issue resolution.
Process Improvement & Automation
Identify opportunities for
process standardization, efficiency improvement, and automation
.
Contribute to enhancements of systems, reports, and MIS to reduce manual effort and operational risk.
Support transition of new processes or business migrations into the tax operations framework.
Your skills and experience
Required Skills & Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, Business, or related discipline
Professional qualifications (CA / CPA / ACCA / MBA – Finance) preferred but not mandatory
Experience
4–7 years
of relevant experience in
Tax Operations
, Custody Operations, Fund Services, or Financial Services back‑office.
Hands‑on experience with
tax reclaims, RAS, withholding remittance, and reconciliations
is mandatory.
Exposure to global markets, treaty benefits, and multi‑jurisdiction tax rules preferred.
Technical & Professional Skills
Strong understanding of
withholding tax concepts, DTTs, and operational tax lifecycle
Ability to interpret tax documentation (W‑8BEN, W‑8BEN‑E, W‑9, local forms)
Strong analytical, reconciliation, and problem‑solving skills
High attention to detail with a strong control mindset
Proficiency in Excel and operational tools / workflows
Effective written and verbal communication skills
