About this role

Summary: Primarily provides pre-sales technical support for the development and implementation of complex products/applications/solutions.  Uses in-depth product knowledge to provide technical expertise to sales staff and the customer through sales presentations and product demonstrations. Assists the sales staff in assessing potential application of company products to meet customer needs and may prepare detailed product specifications for the development and implementation of customer products/applications/solutions. May create detailed design and implementation specifications for complex products/applications/solutions. May build a mini-application based on customer requirements to demonstrate feasibility of the application, often requiring rapid prototyping and/or product demo for client. May provide consultation to prospective users and/or product capability assessment and validation. Duties & Responsibilities: Job Description: The incumbent will enable increased sales and market share in the wireless market segment by providing pre and post-sales  support   to   customers   and   Viavi   teams   for   Viavi ' s   solutions   for   these   markets in APJ with focus on ORAN and   Mobile Core  network  (3G/4G/5G)   experiences. Pre-sales   support   involves   understanding   and   articulating   customer ' s   challenges,   positioning   of   Viavi ' s   portfolio   to   address those   challenges   and   technically   advancing   the   discussions   to   the   point   of  a  commercial   engagement. Main responsibilities/duties: Support   field   sales   team   in   advance   of   customer   meetings,   demonstrations,   evaluations,   trade   shows,   etc.   such   as developing   applications   and   use   cases   that   clearly   demonstrates   the   power   of   Viavi ' s   products   and  s olutions,   applying their   experience   of  ORAN and  Mobile   Core   network   as  a  must   do   focus   to   meet   and   exceed   expectation. Engage directly and understand regional customer needs and applications, apply the insights to position  Viavi products to meet customer needs. Performing demonstrations, proofs of concepts and trials to validate our solution fit to customers Interoperability testing of  VIAVI  Solutions Wireless and customer equipment. Work   closely   with   VIAVI   Solutions   product   units,   R&D   teams   and   regional   teams   to   resolve   customers'   technical issues. Build and maintain close relationships with key customers. Customers are primarily located in APJ Region, though some travel to other regions will be required. Accountabilities will include but not limited to: Provision   of   customer-facing   technical   support   for   VIAVI   Wireless   Solutions   to   drive   towards   customers' acceptance  or   preference   for   our   solution.   Conduct   technical   discussions,   demonstrations   and   trials   to   prove   Viavi ' s product   benefits   to   customers.   Work   closely   with   both   our   customer   base   and   the   product   development   team   to   qualify new   features   requested   by   our   customers. Collection of technical requirements from the customer for future enhancement of the product. Work  with sales teams to position and develop sales strategies to meet business objectives. Key Skills/Competencies: ·        Must   have   strong   understanding   of   wireless   technologies   including  ORAN,  4G /5 G and measurements   related   to protocol. ·        Good   understanding   of  a  wireless  industry (operators and network vendors)   environment   and   operational challenges   for   RAN   and   Core. ·        Working knowledge of AI RAN and Ran Scenario Generator – Digital Twin  ·        Strong L4-L7 protocol experience with basic understanding  of  L2/L3 experience with knowledge of common routing and   switching protocols would be added advantage. ·        Ability to analyze customer network topologies and ability   to trouble-shoot, identify and solve problems. ·        Knowledge   of   3G / 4G / 5 G/ORAN   Network   topologies   and   components   and   procedures.   Knowledge   of   and experience with real-life customer issues. ·        Knowledge and experience with  Test  Automation through   either TCL, Python, Jenkins would be added advantage, as well as hands on experience in Linux operating system. ·        Strong verbal, written and customer communication skills. ·        Ability to work on own initiative and develop as SME. ·        Work  in  a  sales environment as member of extended sales team. Qualification and Experience: ·        The successful candidate should possess  a  Degree (BSc/BEng) and  be  able to demonstrate comparable suitable experience in an Electronic and Communications engineering subject. ·        At least  4  years of working experience in related  industry,  with exposure to 5G ORAN and Core network testing in operator/ network vendor or   lab environments   Understanding of and experience with measuring instruments such as core network testers. ·        Experience   in   Mobile   Core   Service   Provider  and Network Vendor  Environments  -  EPC  and  5G SA   Components   and procedures for MME,   SGW,   PGW, AMF, SMF and UPF Other Key Factors: Excellent trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills; ability to logically analyze technical issues and determine potential   causes. Possess initiative and  a  positive attitude, able to work   both independently and as  a  team player. Strong communications skills and strongly customer-oriented.
