About this role

The Quantity Surveyor is responsible for managing all costs related to construction projects, ensuring effective cost control, accurate estimation, budgeting, billing, and contract administration, while ensuring value for money and compliance with contractual and statutory requirements. Key Roles & Responsibilities Prepare detailed cost estimates, BOQs, and budgets based on drawings, specifications, and scope of work. Conduct rate analysis and feasibility studies for proposed projects. Assist in tendering process, including preparation of tender documents, comparison statements, and recommendations. Evaluate vendor and contractor quotations and negotiate costs. Monitor project costs and ensure cost control within approved budgets. Verify contractor bills (RA bills & final bills) and certify payments. Track variations, extra items, and deviations; prepare variation orders. Coordinate with site engineers, architects, and consultants for quantity verification. Maintain proper records of measurements, drawings, and approvals. Measure and value the work done on site for interim payments. Prepare final accounts, reconciliation statements, and cost reports. Assist in closure of contracts and settlement of claims. Support audits related to project costing and billing. Prepare and verify monthly progress reports and cost statements. Maintain measurement books (MBs) and billing documentation. Ensure compliance with contract terms, payment milestones, and timelines. Liaise with contractors, vendors, consultants, and internal departments. Ensure adherence to contract conditions, safety norms, and statutory requirements. Support management with cost forecasts and financial reports. Qualifications & Experience Education: B.E / B.Tech in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying. Experience: 5–10 years of relevant experience in construction projects (buildings, institutions, hostels, infrastructure).
