Position Title: Quality Line Inspector
Location: Navi Mumbai
Working Schedule: Shift Rotation
MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform line inspection and ensure quality compliance at all stages: raw material receipt, in-process, PDI, and final inspection.
Carry out receiving inspection and prepare inspection reports for machined parts, tubes, and covers.
Handle all quality activities on the manufacturing line, from raw material receipt to PDI line clearance.
Prepare and maintain quality documentation at each manufacturing stage (receiving, in-process, final).
Conduct daily workstation-wise process audits as per the process audit checklist.
Perform SPC, MSA studies, and participate in process and product audits.
Conduct painting scratch tests as per defined standards.
Analyze customer returns and warranty failure parts in coordination with internal teams and suppliers.
Resolve in-house and customer complaints using structured problem-solving methods.
Initiate actions to reduce in-line rejection and DPPM through effective corrective and preventive actions.
Inform suppliers of online non-conformities within 24 hours and follow up for improvements.
Prepare and review monthly rework and rejection reports, including PPM trends and Pareto analysis.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Proficient in handling inspection instruments: Vernier caliper, micrometer, inside caliper, air gauge, snap gauge, VMM, etc.
Strong knowledge of machined component inspection (in-house and outsourced).
Working knowledge of 7 QC tools and 8D problem-solving methodology.
Good understanding of SOPs, Process Flow Diagrams (PFD), Control Plans, PFMEA, and inspection report preparation.
Awareness of ISO 9001:2015 requirements and related documentation.
Capable of performing online and final inspection of manufactured parts in accordance with engineering drawings and specified requirements.
Experience in manufacturing line inspection.
ITI / BSc with minimum 4 years of experience, or
DME with minimum 2 years of experience.
Effective communication skills for coordination with production, suppliers, and quality teams.
Willing and able to work in three-shift operations as per production requirements
