About the Role
As a QA Automation Manager, you will own the
end-to-end quality strategy
for our robotics platform, spanning hardware, embedded systems, and software. You will lead a team of QA engineers while defining scalable testing frameworks and ensuring production-grade reliability in a fast-paced robotics environment.
Experience:
8–12+ years of experience in validation, systems engineering, QA, or robotics engineering.
2–4+ years of experience managing or leading technical teams.
Strong system-level experience with robotics, automation, or material-handling platforms.
Experience defining validation strategy, test standards, and release-readiness criteria.
Experience managing validation across multiple products or customer deployments.
Hands-on background in hardware, firmware, software, or systems testing (prior IC experience required).
Experience working with cross-functional teams including product, hardware, firmware, and field operations
Roles & Responsibilities:
Role Overview
The Software QC Manager is responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and integration readiness of all software systems across multiple robotics projects and client deployments. This role combines hands-on technical validation with leadership of a QC team, covering end-to-end testing across software, robot hardware, peripherals, and server infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
Define and implement SW QC processes, standards, and metrics across all projects
Establish test strategies for complex, multi-system robotics solutions
Ensure compliance with internal quality benchmarks and client requirements
Oversee SW QC activities across multiple concurrent client sites and deployments
Track and report quality status, risks, and release readiness to stakeholders
Lead end-to-end validation of software interacting with:
Robot hardware systems
Peripheral devices (sensors, actuators, controllers)
Backend/server infrastructure and networks
Identify and mitigate integration risks across subsystems
Ensure robustness in real-world deployment conditions
Actively participate in test design, execution, and defect analysis
Troubleshoot complex system-level issues spanning software, hardware, and infrastructure
Support field teams in diagnosing and resolving client-site issues
Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing Software QC team
Drive development of automated test frameworks (API, UI, system-level)
Implement CI/CD quality gates and test pipelines
Select and manage QC tools for test management, defect tracking, and reporting
Work closely with software, hardware, DevOps, and deployment teams
Collaborate with project managers to align quality goals with delivery timelines
Requirements:
Bachelor’s/Master’s in Computer Science, Robotics, Electronics, or related field
5-8+ years in software quality assurance, with experience in complex systems
Proven experience leading QC/QA teams in a product or robotics/embedded environment.
Strong understanding of:
Software testing (functional, integration, system, regression)
Embedded systems and robotics software stacks
Hardware-software integration challenges
Networked systems and server-side dependencies
Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks and scripting
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
Strong debugging and root cause analysis skills across system layers
Experience managing multi-project, multi-location quality operations.
