Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Public Relations & Corporate Communications Specialist to join our team, working closely with our prestigious client. The role involves managing PR activities, publishing articles in coordination with editors, and increasing participation in industry associations such as CII, FICCI, and Nasscom. The ideal candidate will collaborate with the communications team and leadership to translate ideas into impactful marketing materials.
Key Responsibilities
PR Strategy and Execution
:
Develop and execute comprehensive PR strategies to enhance the visibility and reputation of IIM Calcutta (client).
Collaborate with editors and journalists to publish articles, op-eds, and other thought leadership content.
Build and maintain relationships with media professionals to ensure positive coverage.
Content Creation and Marketing
:
Work with the communications team to brainstorm ideas and translate concepts into marketing collateral, including press releases, articles, newsletters, and presentations.
Ensure all content aligns with Customer's brand voice and strategic objectives.
Industry Association Engagement
:
Increase engagement with key industry associations such as CII, FICCI, Nasscom, and other relevant forums.
Plan and execute IIM Calcutta’s (client) participation in industry events, conferences, and seminars.
Develop strategic partnerships to enhance the institute’s visibility in the business and academic community.
Media Relations
:
Build and sustain relationships with key editors and media outlets to ensure frequent coverage of client IIM Calcutta’s initiatives and achievements.
Prepare and distribute press materials and respond to media inquiries.
Leadership and Collaboration
:
Collaborate with the internal communications team and senior leadership to generate ideas and develop content strategies.
Act as a key point of contact for all public relations activities with external stakeholders.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience
: 6-8 years of experience in Public Relations, Corporate Communications, or Media Relations, ideally working with educational institutions or clients in the corporate sector.
Media Relations
: Strong network with editors and media professionals; experience in pitching articles and publishing thought leadership pieces.
Industry Knowledge
: Familiarity with working with industry bodies such as CII, FICCI, Nasscom, and similar associations.
Content Creation
: Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills with experience in developing marketing collateral.
Collaboration
: Ability to work closely with internal teams, leadership, and external partners to deliver effective communication strategies.
Strategic Thinking
: Strong ability to align PR efforts with business and brand goals.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with educational or business institutions.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
