Organizational Overview:
Synchrony's Risk Team is a dynamic and innovative team dedicated to providing oversight as 2nd Line of Defense. Our Risk organization consists of 4 pillars: Compliance, Credit & Financial Risk, Enterprise Risk and Operational Risk. Each of the pillars plays a vital role in managing Risk and supports the business in anticipating and addressing risks, issues, and challenge. This role is aligned to the Risk India team, requiring cross-functional effectiveness, and contribute to Enterprise, Compliance, Credit, Operational and Supervisory Affairs Risk pillar.
Position Overview: We are looking for a proactive and resourceful Mid-Level Project Manager to partner with the Risk India Leader and manage key projects that enhance operational efficiency and stakeholder engagement. This role involves driving initiatives such as Learning & Development programs, senior
leadership visits, offsite events, and process digitization efforts. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working as a Business Analyst or Project Manager in process digitization and be skilled in data visualization and presentation tools.
Role Summary:
We are seeking a proactive and resourceful mid-level Project Manager to partner closely with the Risk India Leader to deliver a balanced portfolio of initiatives across
Risk Engagement Strategy
and
AI Strategy for Risk
. The role will execute end-to-end delivery of stakeholder engagement programs—Learning & Development, senior leadership visits, offsites, communications, and rhythm-of-business routines—ensuring strong planning, logistics, stakeholder coordination, and measurable outcomes, while also driving delivery of Risk’s AI initiatives by coordinating intake and prioritization of AI use cases, managing project plans and dependencies with Risk, Data/Analytics, Technology, and governance teams, supporting process automation and Gen AI adoption, and tracking milestones, risks, and value realization through dashboards and executive-ready reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver Risk Engagement Strategy programs
including Learning & Development initiatives, offsites, leadership visits, communications, and rhythm-of-business routines—owning end-to-end planning, logistics, stakeholder coordination, and post-event follow-through.
Deliver AI Strategy for Risk initiatives
by coordinating AI/GenAI and automation use-case intake, supporting prioritization, and driving execution in partnership with Risk, Data/Analytics, Technology, and governance teams.

Building and managing
integrated project plans
(scope, timelines, milestones, dependencies, resources), ensuring on-time delivery across multiple concurrent workstreams.
Running
project governance and operating cadence
(workstream meetings, action tracking, decision logs), escalate blockers, and ensure timely resolution of issues and dependencies.
Tracking and reporting
delivery progress, risks, and issues
; develop mitigation plans and ensure appropriate escalation to the Risk India Leader and stakeholders.
Creating
executive-ready communications
including crisp PowerPoint updates, status summaries, decision papers, and leadership readouts that highlight progress, risks, adoption, and outcomes.
Developing and maintaining
dashboards and reporting
(e.g., Tableau and/or other tools) to provide transparency into milestones, adoption, and value realization for engagement and AI initiatives.
Supporting
process digitization/automation delivery
by documenting requirements, coordinating testing/UAT, managing implementation readiness, and partnering with Business Analysts and technical teams to drive deployment.
Ensuring
governance-ready documentation
for AI initiatives (e.g., use-case documentation, assumptions, controls/approvals tracking, change management and adoption plans) in line with Risk and enterprise standards.
Serving as a
primary liaison
between the Risk India Leader and internal partners, ensuring consistent stakeholder communication, alignment, and execution across initiatives.
Required Skills/Knowledge:
Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Information Technology, Data/Analytics, or related discipline with
3–5 years
of project/program delivery experience (or
5–7 years
in lieu of a degree), preferably within
financial services, risk, analytics, or technology transformation
.
Minimum 3 to 5 years of progressive project management experience, preferably within financial services, risk management, or a regulated environment. Demonstrated experience working as a Business Analyst or in process digitization/automation projects is strongly preferred. Proven track record of managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
Demonstrated experience delivering
process automation and AI-enabled solutions
(Machine Learning, AI, GenAI), —
with the ability to assess business ideas, translate them into solution requirements, and recommend an appropriate technology approach/use-case mapping
in partnership with Analytics and Technology teams.
Experience supporting delivery of
AI/GenAI or advanced analytics initiatives
(e.g., use-case intake, execution tracking, adoption/change support), working with Data/Analytics and Technology partners.
Strong ability to work with
senior leaders
, manage multiple priorities, and drive execution across cross-functional teams with clear governance and follow-through.
Advanced
PowerPoint
skills for executive storytelling (status, decisions needed, risks/issues, outcomes/value).
Expert knowledge of building
Tableau
dashboards and delivery/value tracking; comfortable working with data and defining metrics.
Proficiency with
project management and Agile delivery tools
(e.g., Jira/Confluence, MS Project/Smartsheet) and familiarity with Agile ways of working.
Excellent
organization, communication, and stakeholder management
skills; able to influence without authority and keep teams aligned.
Proven ability to handle
confidential and sensitive information
with discretion and sound judgment.

Eligibility Criteria:
Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Information Technology, Risk Management, or a related discipline with 3-5 years of experience managing projects, preferably within financial services or risk management environments and 5-7 years of experience in lieu of a degree. Advanced degrees or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, SAFe, CBAP) will be preferred
Work Timings

2:00PM to 11:00PM IST
This role qualifies for Enhanced Flexibility offered in Synchrony India and will require the incumbent to be available between 06:00 AM Eastern Time – 11:30 AM Eastern Time (timings are anchored to US Eastern hours and will adjust twice a year locally). This window is for meetings with India and US teams. The remaining hours will be flexible for the employee to choose. Exceptions may apply periodically due to business needs)
