About this role

The role : The Program Manager_STEM (PM) plays a critical role in leading the planning, implementation, and strengthening of the STEM Collective in Patiala district. This is an entrepreneurial leadership position requiring the PM to manage diverse responsibilities — from building strategic relationships with government stakeholders and partner institutions to designing systems, leading district initiatives, and ensuring high-quality program implementation. The Program Manager will be expected to drive ownership across multiple workstreams and embody Sanjhi Sikhiya’s core values of grit, creativity, collaboration, and compassion in all aspects of their work. Responsibilities: The Program Manager will play a key role in leading and strengthening Sanjhi Sikhiya’s district STEM initiatives and partnerships. Your responsibilities will include: Leading the planning, implementation, and monitoring of STEM initiatives and district-level programs, ensuring effective and timely execution. Building and strengthening strategic partnerships with government departments, schools, universities, NGOs, and industry partners to further Sanjhi Sikhiya’s mission. Designing and strengthening systems and processes for program implementation, student tracking, and overall program effectiveness. Working closely with school leadership and stakeholders to strengthen the STEM ecosystem within partner schools. Supporting the development and implementation of STEM Clubs and other student engagement initiatives. Leading the planning and execution of district-level events, workshops, showcases, and stakeholder engagements. Coordinating with internal teams and ensuring smooth collaboration, information sharing, and alignment across initiatives. Monitoring program progress, identifying challenges, and implementing solutions or course corrections as required. Capturing field learnings and supporting continuous improvement of district programs through reflection and feedback mechanisms. Experience Requirements: Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in STEM domains (Statistics, Economics, Sciences, Engineering, Medical, or related fields). Minimum 4–6 years of relevant experience in program management, preferably within education, development sector initiatives, or STEM-related programs. Experience working with government systems, schools, or district-level programs will be preferred. Understanding of classroom pedagogy and education governance systems in India. Strong problem-solving and creative thinking skills, with exposure to design thinking approaches. Ability to adapt quickly and function effectively across diverse work environments and field conditions. Demonstrated ability to independently manage multiple projects and deadlines in fast-paced settings. Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Google Workspace applications for program management and reporting. Strong communication skills; knowledge of Punjabi (reading and writing) is an advantage. Values, Competencies, and Skills Strong commitment to advancing quality education for all.
