1.       Position Title Production Manager 2.       Departement Integrated Supply Chain 3.       Immediate Superior Site Manager 4.       Job Type Full time 5.       Pay Type Salary 6.       Work Location Site Sayakha, Bharuch, India 7.       Work Remotely No 8.       Schedule Monday to Friday between the hours of 8:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. with some flexibility to have alternative work hours/schedule. 45 hours per week. May require off hours availability on off hours including weekends/holiday work on occasion depending on business/site needs. He will be part of the site emergency response team. 9.       Job Purpose The purpose of position is to look overall operation and production functions meeting agreed target of production within budgeted cost, accepted quality, and highest safety compliance maintaining good housekeeping and basic asset conditions. The position shall also be responsible for raw material planning, production planning aligning with sales, and supply chain dept and external stack holder to get the raw material within time including steam, formaldehyde, acetaldehyde etc maintaining excellent relationship. The position ensure shall ensure people training and development, career planning of staff, regular coaching and guiding them for best practices etc. Direct and guide to operation team to achieve objective managing within targeted costs, lowest possible consumption ratio, in a sustainable manner aligning with the Site Manager. The position shall also be responsible for safety, health and welfare of his department including workplace hazards, machinery operation, and emergency response measures.               10.  Key Result Areas: Key Results Area are expected from the job support actions. Key Result Areas Supporting Actions 10.1. Operation Management   ·     Production Manager shall be overall responsible for meeting production target within agreed cost and quality with high safety standards, housekeeping and asset basic conditions. ·     He shall be accountable to follow dept safety and safe work permit procedure in full for all routine or non-routine work. He shall be accountable for implementing necessary measures to ensure field safety and quality of products manufactured. ·     He shall be integral and active part of ISO management system to improve the performance and meet customer expectations. ·     The position shall be able to maintain good relationship with peer dept, his own team and upper layer management. ·     Prepare / upgrade SOP’s for operation control and standardization. ·      The position shall build a good team, must be good at people planning, coaching, training and development. 10.2. Plant Performance Improvement ·     Maximize productions my improving plant availability and operational optimization. ·     Minimize raw material consumption ratio by efficient plant operation. ·     Minimize energy consumption (steam and power) by efficient operation. ·     Minimizing hazardous wastewater (high TOC water) to reduce effluent / wastewater discharge cost and step toward sustainable operation. ·     Optimize variable cost through efficient and effective plant operation and achieving zero off grade products. 10.3. Planning (Production & Raw Material) ·     Efficient planning of raw material, aligning with supply chain management for formaldehyde, acetaldehyde, lime, steam and miscellaneous acids etc. ·     Planning of finish goods inventory, aligning with sales dept, and SCM. ·     Coordination and relation building with internal and external stakeholders. 10.4. Asset Management and Plant Availability ·     He shall maintain equipment basic condition to perform designed capacity, efficiency and quality. ·     He will ensure periodic cleaning and inspection of equipment like, storage tanks, vessels, hoppers, SILO’s etc, with help of maintenance team and fix identified issues. ·     To ensure operator basic care on equipment including inspections, cleaning, observation and coordinate with engineering department for repair and replacement. 10.5. Budgeting and Cost Control ·     To prepare production budget (yearly) for raw material, Inspections & cleaning, consumable replacement etc. ·     To provide guidance to plant production / operation team to maximize production at minimum cost, and desired best.   ·     Responsible to prepare efficient budget and cost control within approved budget. 10.6. People training and skill Development. ·     Prepare skill matrix or chart for people working in his department against requirement and conduct gap analysis. ·     Prepare training needs based upon gap analysis scheduling training calendar with HR. ·     Training mechanism to develop specific skills including workshop, classroom and on job trainings. ·     Act as a mentor to ensure that team gets adequate training to enhance their knowledge and capability ·     Creating right atmosphere by providing continuous feedback, support and guidance, basis their performance and set goals. ·     Responsible to ensure team imbibes the committed organization values and culture. 10.7. Vendor Development to optimize Cost, Quality, and Deliveries. ·     Vendor assessment including factory visits, collecting market feedback, witnessing, assessing financial capabilities and services etc.   ·     To prepare Vendor Information data bank in a prescribed format and evaluate technically by comparing with existing approved vendors and SWOT analyze. ·     Procurement specifications, performance parameters, Performance Guarantee and Test Procedures. 10.8. Safety & Environmental Norms, Legal Compliance and housekeeping. ·     Adhere applicable safety and environmental norms in plant operation and maintenance. ·     To identify environmental and statutory compliance and prepare action plan to fix and ensure implementation plan. 11.  Education and Experience: 12. Education ·     A Full Time Graduate Chemical Engineer from a Reputed Institution 12.1. Experience ·     More than 20 years of experience in continuous process plant at Production Manager Roll preferably in a chemical or refinery plant. ·     Out of that more than >15 years’ experience in the operations and/or maintenance of Trimethylolpropane, Pentaerythritol, Formaldehyde and Powerhouse preferred. ·     Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Working knowledge of field operations. SAP PM experience preferred. ·     Proven experience in leading and motivating teams in a production environment. A personal style that instils a sense of responsibility amongst peers and direct reports. 12.2.  Competencies: ·     Demonstrated leadership skills as well as demonstrated ability to develop goals and actions to improve performance. ·     Strong problem-solving skills and ability to implement process improvement from concept through project completion (project management skills).  ·     Effectively communicate both orally and through written text. ·     Ability to work under minimal supervision and effectively manage multiple/changing priorities. ·     Ability to read and understand technical documents including PFD's and P&ID's. ·     Dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers. ·     Keen, insight of production process. And ability to pick up issues before becoming major problems. 12.3.  Work Environment ·     This position requires indoor / outdoor working up to 50% of time in a manufacturing environment and exposed to all weather elements, heat, cold, dirt, dust, vibrations, odors/unpleasant smells, loud noises and chemicals. ·     Routinely uses office equipment such as computers, phones, scanners and other typical office equipment. Requires use of electronic mail and ERP systems. ·     Routinely in contact with others (face to face, by telephone, computer or otherwise). May include conflict situations 12.4.  Physical Requirements ·     The position requires to perform in an active office environment, including paperwork, computer, handle office equipment / filing and change activities frequently. ·     Fitness is essential requirement for the position to perform act like sit/ stand/ walk/ move/ bend/ stoop/ kneel or crouch/ climb or balance, and maneuver stairs, ladders and machinery. ·     Ability to work at heights. ·     Mobility required to access all areas on site and navigate/operate in close quarters, small rooms, narrow aisles and passageways. ·     Ability to use all channels of communication (i.e. read/write/speak/hear). ·     Vision sufficient to perform above-described tasks with or without correction. ·     Comply and pass site regulations for PPE and clearances. 12.5. Authority: ·     Financial authority according to Perstorp rules. 12.6. Reporting: ·     The position shall report to Site-Head and will with peers dept including Engineering, Technical Manager, SCM, HSEQ and Procurement. 12.7. Disclaimer: ·     This job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
